Why We Set Up The @town-hall Witness Server
The @town-hall Witness Server is now live.
In this video I discuss why the 4 of us got together and decided to put together a Witness server. Also covered is the vision tied to it and how it will potentially impact the community.
It is also something that is tied to the monthly Town Hall Spaces that we are doing to help educate the newer members along with serve as a liason between the community and top Witnesses.

This is super awesome. We absolutely need community leadership as well as witness support.
Having somebody that can talk to the tech guys and also explain what's going on in plain talk is really important!
Excellent job! @freecompliments
I actually voted for this witness last night! Having this human side of a witness is essential, especially from a group of people who clearly care for the blockchain.
Absolutely I think this will be a great thing to support.
Thank you.
Thank you. Glad it is being well received. Having this conduit is important. A lot of development taking place which is required. However, people often do not feel their views are being represented. Perhaps this will give them something (or someone) to turn to.
Absolutely we also need a community support group that will take the pressure off of Hive watchers.
Hive watchers should only be used for the big issues here. The small problems need a community group to retain users.
We got a lot to go.
Now if the worst of the worst were run out of here we could actually grow!
Having block chain secret police and snitches that pretend to be your friend? Some major issues...
There are a lot of issues with Hive but we can address them. Communities and layer 2 will resolve a great deal. That is where people will have a few more tools to combat things.
Of course, people need to take ownership for this place. Too many are not looking at the larger picture.
Providing guidance both for new and experinced users is a good idea!
Excellent idea 👨🌾🤷👩🏭👨🔧🧑🔬
Loving the idea. Keep up the good works
Really nice to see a witness that consists of multiple people with different skillsets.
Good work.
This is the way.
This is the way!
Yeah.
Noman is a great knitter. Nifty is great with transmissions. JonGo is a demon with darts. And task can put up a shed like there is no tomorrow.
Multiple skillsets coming together.
Another victory for #HIVE
Small steps add up over time.
Great to see. You all have my support!
We appreciate it.
I've written quite long reply, but when I read it back, it sounded like I was trying to discourage you, which was not my intention, so I scrapped it all. It boiled down to the following: running a witness node is trivial, being a witness is very hard. But then there is no better way of becoming a good witness than actually becoming a witness and improving on the job. I wanted to wish you all the best, but actually I should wish you all possible disasters, because that's when things become interesting 😉
