Is age just a number
Growing up I used to believe that age isn't just a number, that there is more to it, as a lady you're expected to get married to an older guy. There is this saying our elders will say " what an elder sees sitting down as a youth even if you climb the tallest tree you won't see it".

Last week I wasn't feeling too well so I decided to go see a doctor, a young man was seated behind the table then an older doctor sat in the corner of the room observing so I explained how I had been feeling to the doctor and he diagnosed me immediately I wasn't too satisfied with the diagnosis so I had to have a test to confirm.
The result came out, so I had to get the necessary medications and go home. I didn't feel better after a few days so I had to go see the doctor again when I went there this time I didn't see the younger doctor it was just the older doctor that was there, so he attended to me, he asked me a few questions and gave me prescriptions, at this moment it dawned on me that I looked at him differently and trusted his judgments more because he was older.
In a way, that perspective tainted my views on relationships.
To me, age is more than just a number because somehow it determines knowledge, understanding, exposure, and even experience.

Recently on Twitter, I saw a post of a 23 years old lady dating a 20 years old guy, they live together and the lady is even pregnant with the guy, when I went to the comment session I saw different kinds of comments there, where the lady is being criticized for dating a younger guy, a lot of people saying all sort of things, I don't see anything wrong with a lady dating a younger guy, it's her choice.
There was a comment that captured my attention when a lady said: It's not the age that matters, that it's all about understanding, and maturity. Both parties must understand their roles and play their parts regardless of their age difference, if it's the man that is younger he must be mature enough to properly handle the relationship.
Come to think of it some younger guys are more mature in a relationship and more exposed than the older ones. The truth is that we all know what we want, you know what works for you and what works for you might not necessarily work for the next person when it comes to relationships so that doesn't mean the next person made the wrong decision.
Is age a factor in a relationship?
