Visiting the temple

In today's blog I will share something about visiting the preparations of a puja pandal, two days before Kali Puja. This puja pandal was built in the grounds of Navapally Boys School.

This year's theme for the puja pandal was the Kotilingeshwar temple in Karnataka. The pooja pandal was organized by Us all club. It took three months to build this puja pandal. For three months people were hearing that this club was pandaling very loudly but we did not go here except two days before Puja.

Two days before the puja, I thought that the entire work of making the pandal would be finished, but I was surprised to see that the work of making the pandal was still going on. The puja pandals in Barasat get crowded two days before the puja but even then there is work going on and there is no permission to enter the puja pandal so I watched from a distance. To be honest the pandal was the best puja pandal I have seen this year. However, the first time I went, I was surprised to see this huge event. They have built a huge Shivalinga here on the model of Kotilingeshwar temple in Karnataka.

It's five to seven minutes from my house but it's been so long since I've been here I felt a little sorry for myself at first. I went there and talked to the workers, they said the work will continue till Puja day. In fact, the puja pandal was being made so big that they could not finish the work. The workers there also told me that the pandal cannot be fully constructed and opened to the public unless they have to work 24 hours a day till the Puja day. As our Barasat is famous for Kali Puja, everyone has to face the huge crowd to see the puja pandals everywhere. Two days before the puja, everyone goes to visit the puja pandals, but this puja pandal is still not complete, I was a little disappointed because it was made bigger and the chances of crowding here are high.

I went that afternoon, went and saw various pandal preparations. I was watching Shivalingas being painted, making snakes and watching them on Shivalingas. Moreover, on that day, the work of making small temples was going on next to the big Shivalinga. I could not know the details about everything else from the outside because no one was allowed inside. I watched many times from a distance and took many photographs. I stood there for about twenty minutes watching them do this. They were doing everything very perfectly. After standing there for about twenty minutes , I left..
