Dashuiyu, A beautiful village in the Qinglong valley

Hello, my dear Hive friends.

Last weekend was another sunny day in midst of the November when it is winter already in northern Beijing as the night temperature crosses the freezing point while the daytime temperature is around 10 degrees centigrade. So, I didn’t want to waste the day by lying on my bed and I had planned to visit a northern park in the Huairou district of the Beijing Municipal. According to my plan, I wake up early in the morning this winter when it is very difficult to leave my blanket! But my curiosity was at the top as the weather was super attractive to have a trip in the mountain forest area of the Huairou. So, I made myself ready for the trip and took the taxi around 8:30 to the bus stop for my trip to the far north of Huairou city center.

Usually, I use the Chinese map for my location choosing to take taxis and public transport like buses, subways, and trains. Actually, all the Chinese people also can’t handle the location without the help of these advanced maps on their phones or tablets. But the problem for foreigners is the language barrier as the only language is Chinese for these useful apps! But I can assure you that the map is so accurate that I feel very sorry for Google Maps in many cases and AI integration is far ahead in these aviation applications. And that’s why some bi cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Wuhan have implemented some pilot projects for deploying driverless taxis in some routes from 2022!

Within 20 minutes I reached the bus stand and I was checking the routes afterward as I got a direct bus from the bus stop to my location. The bus stop was the first one to ensure the seat under some extra pressure from the tourist side as I have faced such issues earlier, so I chose the starting point of the bus. There were several ladies asking for a taxi to the Great Wall which is the most popular destination in Huairou, but my destination was different. And to their disturbance, I lost my first bus, and after some time I got another bus according to the map application that I have been using as these apps show you the live location of the desired bus. And I got onto the bus which had no number when I got in as it was the starting point.

The bus was in the right direction for half an hour but suddenly it changed its route I was notified by the map, but the overall direction was towards my destination, so I ignored it. After another 20 minutes, the bus became completely empty and I realized that I had got into the wrong bus and that was the last stoppage of the bus. Then I checked the bus number which was H41, but my desired bus number was H11. That was my mistake, when I got off the bus, I felt it was okay to have a different location to explore as Huiairoun is full of beauty. And this village known as the Dashuiyu is beautiful in the valley of the Qing Long valley in the northern region of the Huairou.

And the next bus was after more than half an hour and I was getting late so I chose another direction as this village has another route with another bus at the other side of the village, so I walked towards that stoppage and explored the village as it was a really a colorful village with modern facilities. Then I found that most of the buildings here are for tourist attractions and all are like smaller hotels or hostels for the tourists as the valley is very beautiful. The nearest scenic spot ‘Qinglong George Scenic Area’ is among the top 3 in the Huairou district just after the Great Wall and the Yanqihu Lake Scenic Area both of them are my regular activity area, especially the Yanqihu lake as you can see in my profile with a lot of blogs on it.

The other bus stop was for the Qinglong George Scenic area, but unfortunately, I found no tourists here usually the entire area is covered with thousands of tourists when I visited the scenic area in 2021! Then I found that there are a lot of construction works inside the scenic area and that’s why the scenic area is currently closed, and the bus service is also closed to the stoppage as the place is like an abandoned place with a few tourists and local people walking around.

So, I tried to get a taxi from there but for more than half an hour I couldn’t find a single one as the location is very popular nowadays for the scenic area’s construction works for renovating the scenic park. So, I started roaming around the village and found a children's park which seems very old but there I can see the renovation works too with a new area allocation with the greater inauguration in the future.

Meanwhile, the time was more than 12:30 pm and I thought to come back to my dorm as the daylight would soon be in darkness as the sun set before 5 o'clock (around 4:50)! So, I didn’t have enough time to go to the far north, but I got everything here as the village is just on the valley of the beautiful Qinglong mountains. And the sky was blue with excellent air quality that satisfied my eyes.

I hope you like my photos of the beauty of the tiny mountain village and the green forestry area with a crystal clear blue sky. It was an amazing experience to have such a fantastic place like this, with the discovery of natural beauty, to enjoy my Beijing life! If you have any queries, let me know in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them.

Thanks a lot for your time and attention. I will catch up with you at the next one.
Wish you a nice day!

Yeah, I can use the map properly although I can't understand the chinse language properly, and I can find out my routes as the location was a one-hour bus journey. So, I didn't need to be worried too much in the wrong destination. Thanks for stopping by.
