Experiencing Flavors From Around The World: Pizza In Milan Italy 🍕 Meat Toppings Are Overrated
"Brace yourself... More pizza posts are coming!" 😍 Admittedly, not something one has to prepare for as it's only positivity because of the mouthwatering effect scrumptious food has. And no, we didn't only have pizza or pasta when in Italy, but definitely tried as much as we could've in that short period of time.
One of the first pizzerias we tried was Piz Milano in Milan Italy, which was a walk away from the apartment we stayed at. From the very start we felt welcomed: as we approached the establishment and came into view of one of the employees, he opened the door, greeted us and asked a table for how many and offered us complimentary drinks.
The ambiance was informal, loud "in your face" colorful, eclectic and warm. Though there was so much randomness, it all seemed to come together and fit. It seemed like a place to come with friends, colleagues and family to celebrate happy occasions. Seeing Maradona memorialized on their wall was a plus and the color pallet would've made me run for the hills in another setting, but in contrast it felt inviting.
Now to the fun part: food! We ordered a Pizza Margherita and a Calzone (oven baked folded pizza) served with mozzarella. From the very first bite I was transported to another plane, because of the rich strong and juicy flavors unbeknownst to me and this changed my mind of always ordering pizzas with meat toppings.
This experience invigorated the notion that we don't always need meat or fish in or on our food, with the right combination of herbs and seasoning. The mozzarella was soft creamy and melted at the tip of the tongue and the crust of the pizza thin, soft and crunchy at the same time.
Pizza is always yumki, the place look so nice and coloured I like the walls ❤️
I liked the walls with the pictures and nick knacks and also the ceiling.
