Without Past, We are meaningless
Our past defines our present and we should learn lessons from our past. If we don't learn lessons from past then there is no point of history.
History is important to know our roots and base. History subject is being taught in many schools around the world. It's really good to have the idea of our history.
I am biased towards history but not biased towards making false heroes from history. Those specific figures who are heroes for one nation/society are actually villains for another society. This hero making phenomena and concept is totally subjective and country base thing.
I advocate history until we are taking interest in reading and learning about roots and civilizations that lived on this Earth.
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
Past informs us about Present
If we have knowledge of our history then it is easy to tackle different situations and conditions in the present times. It would be easy for us to understand different perspectives, ideas and contexts. All evolution happened because there were available roots for them. Just imagine, What if all these evidence are removed then we cannot understand the current time. Everything would be complete puzzle for us.
Past is frame of reference for us. With the help of frame of reference, we conduct our present.
No identity
Those nations who have forgot their roots, culture and history are unable to explain their real identity. Their identity is being compromised.
My sincere reader, All this division in this world, nationalism and ethnicity is based on identity and identity is chained with history.
A few days ago, I went with class tour to Lahore. It was educational tour in which we explored Mughal architecture. One of my mate gave a nerve shocking statement. He said "What's the mean of all these buildings? Destroy all of them. These all are meaningless"
This statement of my fellow was shocking for me. I didn't give a sudden response to him but later on i thought about it. Okay, We destroy all these ruins then how you will stand for your nationalism and how you will glorify your identity?
Stagnation In Progress
Everything in this world is flowing in the same manner of water. Science and technology evolved through time. Nothing happened in just one night. Everything is following a complete tradition. This tradition is chained from past and continuing in present. The same tradition will be going on in future.
Time itself is a mystery which gave birth to billions miracle. Time changed and it's keep on ticking. It's unstoppable. But, it would be a mess to forget our past time.
We cannot define literature without taking in consideration of Shakespeare, William Blake, Fyodor Dostoevsky,John Milton, John Keats, William Wordsworth and all other literary figures. It's all tradition that is keep going. This tradition is similar to sky as sky is running from east to west and south to north.
It's not possible to detach yourself from your history.
See you next 🌺
