Power makes people blind

Power comes with abuse of power and authority. Power makes people blind as the people who have power they don't see the sufferings of others and don't listen to the perspectives of others. Power is like addiction. Once it gets into veins then it almost become impossible to detach it. Because powerful person, even after leaving the throne of power, wants to get everything by his old influence.

When a person is removed or ousted from power then he becomes resentful and sulky. This behaviour is usual in almost every person who once has enjoyed power.

Well, around me, i have seen hundreds of people who are in power and using their influence to get themselves fit in the box.

In Pakistani social context, I have seen that power is outcome of negotiation. It will be suitable to call my country, a negotiated country. Here, power comes with privileges and perks but on the top it is wrapped with bribery and negotiations. Even the justice system is so mixed up. In Pakistan, people have three choices for justice, the one is shariah( which is according to religion), the second is State law( which is according to British law) and third one is community or folk law( which is designed by local community). Interestingly, people use these three models according to their preference and advantage.

Moreover, these things are result of kinship system which is highly strong in my country. This kinship system is the only reason behind the dysfunctionality of every apparatus of the country. If police is not working effectively then kinship is reason behind it. Kinship system is the only bond which is strongly holding the nation together.

All these words which i have wrote above are more related to power in my country and also showing that how power is flowing in my country. Power is concentrated in the hands of elites. I have some relatives who use their power to allocate people of their will in machinery of the government. It's considered wrong but that's how things work here.

The thing which is surprising one is that even a person who has just small authority he also uses it for his own benefit. Let me narrate you such an incident when someone uses his power to degarde me.

In my college life, there was one class fellow who used to pay only ten ruppee as college fee. He was studying on scholarship. His marks were less than me but he used power of his father to avail scholarship. On the other hand, i was paying fee of college. I used to feel strange that why i had to pay fee but later on, i realized that he used power to avail scholarship.

Later on, In second year i also used power of my uncle to avail that scholarship. This was my reaction to that misuse of power. I also manipulated the system. This is just a mild and small example of using the power but that's how things work here.
