Government Should Take Steps For Public

You can hit my nerve by saying "public transportation" because it's situation is bad. I always have to use public transport because i don't know how to ride motorbikes and how to drive cars. The only thing i know is riding bicycle but under this sun i cannot rode to my university. That's why i always use public transport.

Back in childhood, we use to reach to our school by Rickshaw. We used to think that we are sitting in rollercoaster. It always remained such a haphazard journey that we were like gas particles colliding in a closed container. Even sometimes i fell from rickshaw due to heavy and sudden jumps.

Not maintained Roads

The one worst thing is roads over here which are poorly constructed and not maintained. This bad condition of roads causes delay in every activity. It causes us to reach late on every event.

Politicians just ate all the budget which is specified for construction work. They enjoy perks and privileges while the people are grinding themselves in the whirl of poverty and misery. The government machinery is in hands of elites but not in hands of socially aware people. They are consuming the public wealth and the public condition is pitiable.

Weather and Transportation

Almost every aspect of life is poorly managed. One more thing which is obstacle in public transport which is sudden rains and flooding. Heavy rains become reason to turn the roads into muddy mess which makes difficult to travel and even to walk. Monsoon season always remains dramatic here because every monsoon brings folds of flood which causes suffering for people.

Fares for Transport

Above all is the fares of public transport. They charge a good amount but the condition of buses is not always good. But it is not the case with every city. Only small cities have this system. Big cities like Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi and others have really managed and well maintained transport system. These cities have different transport projects which are almost free and takes just minutes to reach the destination.

Comparison of Small Cities and Big Cities In Transportation

After seeing the condition of public transport in my city when i went to Islamabad then it was really a shocking thing for me. Because i observed public transport over there which is strikingly different from my native city. Metro, Green line, Blue Line, Orange Train, BRT and many other transport initiatives are taken by government. These initiatives are good and public is at ease because of easily accessible transportation. Yet, Smaller cities need much attention in many aspects like the roads and maintenance of buses.

Solution & Suggestions

Government should take step to raise the road bridges and it should improve drainage system. Moreover, It should make strong and regulatory infrastructure which could be sustainable in harsh conditions and in floods too. National highway authority should take step to maintain the roads. While roads are under construction, government should keep check and balance of what material is being used by engineers.

In short, The one highlighted problem is the poor infrastructure and poorly constructed roads. This will also help to manage traffic.
