Let's Make Tempe Bacem For Lunch

Hello guys....

Today I will cook a dish for my lunch, what I will cook is one of Indonesian specialties, Tempe Bacem.

Bacem is a typical Indonesian food that has a sweet taste, usually bacem uses tofu or tempeh, and this time I will use tempe. Actually I bought instant teriyaki seasoning, but the recipe on the package is to make Bacem, I don't know why, but because I really like Bacem so it's okay to make it as my lunch.

Ingredient

  • 100 gr tempe.

  • 2.5 gr finely chopped coriander.

  • 2 lime leaves.

  • 5 gr of tamarind.

  • 150 ml of water.

  • One pack of instant teriyaki sauce, I used the Saori brand.

How To Make

  • Cut the tempeh into small pieces.

  • Saute coriander, lime leaves and tamarind.

  • Add 150 ml of water, then add the tempeh and one sachet of teriyaki sauce. Cook until the gravy recedes and seeps into the tempeh.

  • Heat enough cooking oil to fry the tempeh back in the pan. Fry until slightly dry.

  • If it is a bit dry, serve on a plate. I cooked it slightly charred, because I prefer it if the tempe Bacem is charred like this.

  • And the cooking is done, it can be eaten. This is enough for 2 servings.

It is very tasty, the inside is well cooked, and the outside is slightly charred so that it is more crunchy. It has the right sweet taste, and is perfect for eating with rice. Actually you can also add chili, usually I eat Bacem using belacan chili, it is a very delicious combination.
