Old Bar 🥰☀️

The clock tower is a building that dates back to the medieval or Venetian era.... The tower was rebuilt by Jahja-aga Ibrahim Osmanova in 1753. And let a clock be placed on it. It is his Waqf (endowment)...
The city managed to collect funds to restore it, so the clock worked...

I summered in Montenegro, near the town of Bar, above which is the old town of Bar....

I got to ramo by local bus. It stands right in front of the old town...

A wide staircase and bars led to the entrance to the old Bar..

It was a terribly windy day, it was not suitable for swimming, so in order not to spend the day in the room, I decided on this trip. part of town...

I had to hold my cap so that the wind wouldn't blow it away..🤣

Old Bar, one of the oldest inhabited places in Montenegro. It is a city with a long and stormy history...the spears of many conquerors and armies broke there.

It was built in an unusual place for coastal cities... And it's only a few kilometers from the coast.

And it's only a few kilometers from the coast. Stari Bar is located on a hill called Londš, at the foot of Mount Rumija.

It is surrounded on three sides by impassable cliffs...it was built in this place primarily to be able to defend itself more easily, as well as for access to fresh drinking water.

Water is supplied to the city from the north. And with an aqueduct that is very old, from the 14th to the 16th century...

Over the centuries, this city has been constantly expanded and built... over the centuries, it has expanded, and various periods and cultures have also passed through, so there is a combination of different architectures.

Narrow streets, winding and there were several preserved buildings and churches... I thought I was lost... And in the end, now that I think about it, I don't even see the whole city 🤣

The wind was so strong that I wanted to go around as soon as possible and sit somewhere to drink lemonade...

I finished the walk, but this is one part of exploring and wandering around this centuries-old fortress...
