Beauty in the woods 🥰
Wednesday is #Wednesdaywalk hosted by great @tattoodjay 🌼 who collaborating with the wonderful @elizacheng who is hosting #Makemesmile 🌼
I visited the Gornjak monastery, which is located in the Homolj mountains, below the peak of the Ježevac mountain.
It was created long ago from 1376 to 1380. According to tradition, it was built by Prince Lazar...
The prince was hunting at the foot of the mountain, on the site of today's monastery, when he saw the monk Gligori, and wanted to talk to him... The river was noisy and they called each other.
When the monk prayed and the river became quiet... It is the same today... When they apologized after seeing how pious the prince was, and the prince how honest and holy the monk was.
He decided to build a monastery. Since its completion, it has not been abandoned, although it was burned and demolished, it continued to live...
Various miracles are associated with that monastery, and one of them is that the water that flows down the rock, behind the monastery, if collected on a saint's day, cures eye diseases. And there is also a vine, which is believed to cure infertility... So the monastery has constant visitors.
This unusual tree reminded me of a man who was on his way...
Next to the Monastery flows the Mlava River, which in places where it is slow, has an unusual turquoise color. Otherwise, it is full of rapids and very noisy....
A walk through the forest to the monastery....
and a tour of the chapel where the water springs....
Thus ended our walk...
Thank you so much for visiting my blog ❤️
Have a nice evening ✨
