Amazing Nature Contest: FREE TOPIC - #4/11/23
I am a participant in this great competition hosted by @bucipuci 🌸
Tonight I will tell you an interesting Aboriginal legend about the origin of the sun.
Aborigines lived in scattered tribes throughout Australia for tens of thousands of years.... They kept native legends only for their own tribe. And on many topics about the origin of the world, the origin of the sun and everything we see... there are a large number of similar legends... This legend I am going to tell you is from the area of central Victoria.
At the beginning of "Dream Time" (it is the time when the earth was created)...
At that time there lived a woman who was forbidden to marry her chosen one. And she decided to leave her tribe, she didn't want to hear any explanations from her people.... She walked for a long time until she reached an area that was gray and rocky. There was little food and no comfortable place to sleep. Although she was hungry and thirsty, she did not want to return to her tribe.
At one point she saw a man from her tribe who came by force to take her home. She quickly ran away, and deeper into that area...exhausted,
torn clothes, she still had the strength to go on. She needed a rest..the spirit of her ancestors gently lifted her up and carried her up to the sky, to a safe place. She slept for a long time, and when she woke up she saw a lot of food and water... There was also a place for a fire, so she lit it. She was alone, in a warm place, she wasn't scared...she felt safe.
She decided that she would rather live alone than return to the tribe.
She watched her tribe from above, so she saw that most of the inhabitants were sad that she was gone...
When she saw this, her heart slowly dropped, and she felt homesick for her tribe. But she was in heaven and couldn't come back.
She saw how cold they were, and they couldn't sit by the fire to warm themselves, because they had to work...
She decided to make her own fire for them, which will be so big, to warm people who work so hard..
And so until the night came when she put out her fire. People could now light their own fire.
She saw that the fire helped them a lot, and that they were happy. She decided to light her fire every day..
People began to see fire in the sky every day. Grateful for the warmth they felt, they named it "The Sun".
Those were too long years of loneliness for the girl, but she was joyful and happy because she helped her people
..she radiated her fire every day.
I hope you liked the legend. I love finding them and reading them. Sometimes even two legends from different climates have similarities...
