A bit of winter ❄️🥰
I like to hike, although winter is not my season. Fortunately, the day was beautiful, the temperature around zero and, most importantly, no wind.
I wasn't hoping for snow, although we saw whiteness on the peaks... Still, it snowed and stayed in the parts where the sun doesn't reach.... this side to the top, I'm climbing for the first time, and I like to walk on the rocks... And I did not expect snow in this volume....
A real touch of winter, and now I can imagine what it's like to climb the mountains at this time of the year... Fortunately, we had an extremely beautiful day....
Now a little about these beautiful mountains...
Passing through the gates of Homolja, the magic of these regions makes time stand still. Untouched wild nature, full of history and legends, customs and beliefs...
Homolje is a real fairy tale represented by rich forest landscapes... On the lower mountain parts there are the beauty of oak forests.... the central part is a combination of oak and beech forests....
...they are full of forest fruits, medicinal herbs, the highest peaks of these mountains the area is covered with pastures and meadows, there are many medicinal plants....
The Homolj mountains also hide the most famous rainforests...and very interesting for sightseeing.
Vinatovača is the largest rainforest in this part of the mountains...it is very special and famous for its large beech trees, which are about 350 years old.
I visit the Homolj mountains whenever I have the chance. This time with a hiking group from Vršac, we climbed a peak, Ježevac...
Here my feet finally reached the snow 🥰
I hope that it will be noticed in my place, in Banat...
The trail started slowly climbing, to reach the part where we climbed the rocks. That part is called the goat's hump... Why?! I have no idea 🤭
You've seen the beginning of the trail, now we're going back to the trail and climbing under the snow.
But it's definitely a bumpy road.... The sun followed us on that part of the road, until we arrived in the shadow of the mountain.... It got colder there....
And snow was only visible in some places.... As we climbed there was more and more snow... To end up in a snow fairy tale..
Snow, finally to see and feel that it's winter... The road was a little slippery, because the sun was slowly melting where it touched the branches...
Near the top everything was white, the wind made a real work of art out of branches and snow....
The view from the top was magnificent, and even more interesting because there was not even a bit of snow in the valleys... Only shadows of clouds.. And fog in the distance....

If the winter is cold, then there is snow in the valley. But still, it is most abundant on the peaks. And in parts where the sun doesn't reach..
I won't survive at those temps🥶 but the view looks great from the top. I'm curious, did you encounter any wild animals during this time? The must be in hibernation perhaps.
I believe that he would have survived, because it was only around zero... And later the temperature rose and it was about 3 degrees above zero...

Walking was pleasant, I was even warm from climbing.... We didn't see any wild animals.... Unfortunately....
I'm from a tropical country. It's pretty hot here plus we never had snow so it will be hard to go out haha. We are not used to being this cold but it does look beautiful outside 🤩.
Hahaha... I believe it would be a shock to you... But it was nice, and a little colder at the top 🤭
