Overview

This week in Battle of the Week we have the Scavo Firebolt, a fire splinter ranged unit with 2 attack and a 4 mana cost.

Personally I don't usually use it that often, since when I use some ranged unit with the fire splinter I prefer to use the Spark Pixies for the same amount of mana which has several advantages especially if used in combination with melee units.

However, the Scavo Firebolt is very good with 2 attack and can be used in several occasions, such as when we decide to focus only on ranged attacks or as in this example that I bring you when the rule of the battle limits the melee units that we can use.

Rules

With the little league rule we must use units of 4 mana or less, limiting the cards that we can select, being a good opportunity to use the scavo firebolt.

The Battle

In this opportunity my strategy is that of a two-pronged attack with the range units attacking the first position while my sneak and opportunity units attack from behind trying in one way or another to break the enemy's strategy while I use the Antoid Platoon as a tank to Give me some time to be able to cause damage.
I decide to place the Scavo Firebolt in 5 position to help protect the rear in case the Spark Pixies falls, since in addition to the tank, it is the unit that I have with the most health.

My enemy has a similar strategy, although his formation is different, placing his range units in the middle unlike me who places them in the last positions.
The strategy of placing the Spark Pixies in front of the Serpentine Spy that my opponent uses I had already seen before and although it is not a bad idea since it helps to protect the Serpentine Spy, I usually place it in last position to protect the rest of my units of sneak attacks.

Formation

Battle Analysis

The battle starts well for my opponent dodging my Serpentine Spy's attack (thanks to him placing his Spark Pixies in front of his Serpentine) and killing him with his own.

However my sneak units destroy his rear by killing his two opportunity units.

Then his Spark Pixies and Antoid Platoon fall putting the game on my side, losing without being able to kill any other of my units

I think my strategy worked quite well, while my enemy's was harmed by not placing any defense for sneak attacks, also placing the xenith monk in second position was not very useful until the end of the game where the battle was already decided .

It would probably have been a bit better if he had put the Scavo Firebolt in last position to protect his units from sneak attacks and swapped the Xenith Monk for a unit like Magma Troll or another that would increase his damage.

Conclusion

The Scavo Firebolt just like other units I have covered in these reviews is not the default unit type I would use in most of my builds, but it is a good unit to use in certain circumstances, its main advantage being the relationship between its mana cost and its attack power.
