A Visit to Sikkim and Gangtok with friends, a much required break
After a hectic schedule of almost 8 months it was time for us to take a break from the normal routine and explore new places of India for which we were planning since a long time.
During the month of May the summer days are full of scorching heat so in this season all we want is to go to a hill station so we planned to visit Sikkim and Gangtok.
kick start of the trip
So around 3 am we left for Kolkata to catch our flight it took us around 3 hours to reach Kolkata and from there we had a direct flight to Gangtok. Me and my friends were too excited for this trip after a long time.
Having completed a long journey from flight we reached our hotel and after getting fresh and taking a nap we ordered our food. As we were totally tired we slept for the night.
view from our hotel
Waking up the next morning at around 3:30 a.m. me and my friends took bath had a breakfast of fruits and chapati with veggies our journey started. We first visited to Nathula Pass as you can see in the picture it is such a beautiful place
Nathula pass is one of the best and most beautiful hill station I have ever seen. The Indo- China border lies here and the temperature is -1 degree Celsius.
Nathula Pass is generally a tourist attraction place and best hill station to spend summer holidays. All my friends to cap along with them but I was the only one who was regretting because of haste I left my cap at the hotel.
My hands were literally shivering but then my friends started playing with the snow including me so we forgot the harsh weather and enjoyed the snow.
Sikkim Yumthang Valley and Chungthang Forest block
The next day it was time for us to visit Chungthang forest block which was yet another beautiful forest and the best part of it was the waterfalls. The climate was too chill there and one can feel the freshness of fresh and running water of the falls.
This forest is full of greenery and the best part of it is unlike other forests it is a safe place to visit as comparatively here is less wild animals and one can get the view of different kinds of trees and flowers of the mountains.
I just love taking pictures and creating memories and this was perhaps our best trip with my friends and through this trip I got healed in the lap of nature.
Zero Point Yumthang (Sikkim)
Last but not the least now it was time for Zero point Yumthang also known as Yume Samdong is the confluence of 3 rivers and if visiting Sikkim one cannot miss this place so keep it in your bucket list of travelling.
It is about 15000 feet from ocean level and is covered by snow. One can feel the heaven on Earth on this place as it depicts the true beauty of our mother earth.
Next was the Changu Lake while returning we visited there and the mixture of blue sky with clouds and high white mountains made me feel that I am living in another world which is full of dreams.
So this was our memorable trip of Gangtok which I will personally advise anyone visiting India and willing to see any hill station should visit Gangtok.
All the pictures above are taken from the camera and my iPhone. So this is me Sumit Singh greeting you all.
