Visiting the tourist lighthouse: "Punta Ballena" located in Margarita Island! ⚓️ [ESP-ENG]

Hola queridos amigos! Espero que estén muy bien y que su día haya sido maravilloso, es un gusto para mi publicar mi ultima aventura en esta comunidad, con emoción vengo a contarles mi experiencia visitando este lugar maravilloso llamado " Faro Punta ballena " o " Fortin Santiago De Caranta " el cual se ubica en Pampatar sector la Caranta, había leído mucho sobre el y tenia ganas de conocerlo en persona, de hecho dicen que es uno de los lugares que todo turista debe visitar primero, ya que al irte llevas en tu memoria una de las mas hermosas vistas de toda la Isla.

Tengo 4 meses viviendo en la Isla de Margarita - Venezuela donde he ido visitando lugares mágicos y conociendo mas de su historia, este lugar tiene mucho que demostrar y contar! los invito a seguir leyendo y observando así quedaran enamorados como yo de semejante paisaje!.

I hope you are very well and that your day has been wonderful, it is a pleasure for me to publish my last adventure in this community, with emotion I come to tell you my experience visiting this wonderful place called "Faro Punta Ballena" or "Fortin Santiago De Caranta" which is located in Pampatar sector Caranta, I had read a lot about it and I wanted to meet him in person, in fact they say it is one of the places that every tourist should visit first, because when you leave you take in your memory one of the most beautiful views of the entire island.

I have 4 months living in Margarita Island - Venezuela where I have been visiting magical places and knowing more of its history, this place has much to show and tell! I invite you to continue reading and observing so you will be in love as I am with such a landscape!.

Mientras vas llegando puedes visualizar el mar desde la ventana de tu carro, luego lo primero que tienes en primer plano es este enorme faro con gaviotas volando a su alrededor, este faro es el guardián de la costa de Pampatar al guíar a marineros y pescadores con su luz en la oscuridad, también es el sitio turístico mas popular.

Dato curioso: Con la finalidad de cumplir con las normativas internacionales de seguridad en la navegación la Armada de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela estaba motivada a crear unos 8 faros, este es uno de ellos!.

As you arrive you can see the sea from the window of your car, then the first thing you have in the foreground is this huge lighthouse with seagulls flying around it, this lighthouse is the guardian of the coast of Pampatar to guide sailors and fishermen with its light in the dark, it is also the most popular tourist site.

Curious fact: In order to comply with international safety regulations in navigation the Navy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela was motivated to create 8 lighthouses, this is one of them!

Este faro enorme mide 30 metros, contiene 8 balcones y su arquitectura es inspirada en los fortines del periodo colonial español, lo que me pareció mas impresionante fue el hecho de que en la cima puedes disfrutar de un hermoso paisaje de 360 grados de toda la Isla de Margarita, esto lo pude confirmar mas adelante, por ahora me tocaba subir he ir disfrutando y aprendiendo sobre este hermoso faro.

This huge lighthouse measures 30 meters, contains 8 balconies and its architecture is inspired by the forts of the Spanish colonial period, what I found most impressive was the fact that at the top you can enjoy a beautiful 360 degree view of the entire island of Margarita, this I could confirm later, for now I had to go up and enjoy and learn about this beautiful lighthouse.

Al entrar y comenzar a subir las escaleras hay un cartel con el nombre del lugar, que se conoce como faro o fortín, en realidad son las dos cosas al mismo tiempo y es mas conocido como " Faro punta ballena ", algo interesante que me tope al comenzar a subir es el Museo Hidrográfico con tres maquinas de exhibición, luego seguí subiendo las escaleras y asomándome por los balcones que me iba topando en el camino.

Upon entering and starting to climb the stairs there is a sign with the name of the place, which is known as a lighthouse or fort, actually it is both at the same time and is better known as "Faro punta ballena", something interesting that I found when I started to climb is the Hydrographic Museum with three exhibition machines, then I continued up the stairs and peeking through the balconies that I was bumping into on the way.

Al subir las escaleras puedes detenerte y ver fotografías con su historia de los trabajadores que hicieron vida o siguen haciendo vida en el faro, por ejemplo en la primera foto los trabajadores están realizando la adecuación de los equipos hidrográficos y en las demás solo menciona el nombre de cada barco y que se estaba realizando en ese preciso momento, es una hermosa forma de mantener la historia viva y presente para todos los turistas.

As you go up the stairs you can stop and see photographs with their history of the workers who made life or are still making life in the lighthouse, for example in the first photo the workers are making the adequacy of hydrographic equipment and the other only mentions the name of each ship and that was being done at that precise moment, it is a beautiful way to keep the history alive and present for all tourists.

Estas son algunas fotos de la vista que tenia al ir entrando por los balcones, donde ven la bandera de Venezuela es el fortín de este faro, justo a las orillas de este hermoso e impresionante mar azul.

These are some photos of the view I had as I entered through the balconies, where you see the Venezuelan flag is the stronghold of this lighthouse, right on the shores of this beautiful and impressive blue sea.

Como les dije quería hacer esta visita turística hace mucho y el venir fue algo no planeado mas, no podia dejar ir la oportunidad de conocer el faro en persona, me gustaría volver a venir en la mañana donde se que puedo apreciar mejor los colores ya que esta visita fue en pleno atardecer ( ver un atardecer desde ese angulo fue una de las mejores experiencias en mi vida).

DIOS! ES UNA BELLEZA ESTE LUGAR!, cuando estas allí en la cima, observando el paisaje y las gaviotas volando junto a ti, es inevitable no agradecerle a la vida por este hermoso regalo llamado naturaleza.

Dedo acotar que los que cuidan el faro hacen un excelente trabajo tanto en la atención con los turistas como al cuidarlo, fueron muy amables con nosotros, ellos me contaron la historia de este fortín/faro tal cual como se los fui redactando, necesito regresar pronto, no puedo esperar para volver a tener ese paisaje justo frente a mis ojos!!.

As I told you I wanted to do this tour a long time ago and coming here was something not planned anymore, I could not let go the opportunity to see the lighthouse in person, I would like to come again in the morning where I know I can better appreciate the colors since this visit was at sunset (seeing a sunset from that angle was one of the best experiences in my life).

GOD! THIS PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL, when you are there at the top, watching the landscape and the seagulls flying next to you, it is inevitable not to thank life for this beautiful gift called nature.

I must point out that the people who take care of the lighthouse do an excellent job in the attention with the tourists as well as taking care of it, they were very kind with us, they told me the history of this fort/lighthouse just as I wrote it down, I need to come back soon, I can't wait to have that landscape right in front of my eyes again!!!.
