Hello, Splinterfriends. It's a very interesting week as the new Splinterlands Community Challenge is all about building your own story within the game's lore. Additionally, The People's Guild also have their own contest about designing our own take on a Yabapmatt-themed summoner. So I figured why not do it both in one post? Two birds in one stone. 😁

Here's my new character - Reformer Matubaya

Lore
The raging war between the Chaos Empire and the rebels still echoes even to the far outskirts of Icewall Bay. The battle here was long over and ruins were all left of a once busy village. A sharp rift suddenly opened and a shadowy figure emerged. He then brought out a glowing orb. Multicolored sparks flew as his magic scanned the surroundings. After a few hours of walking, he finally stood to the spot where the orb reacted the strongest. He bent down and inspected the ground. After dusting the cobblestone, a glowing pattern emerged. He placed the orb directly above it and a blinding light engulfed it. The houses, shrines, and walls came back as if someone rewound the time back to when chaos was but a distant nightmare."

"We must rebuild everything," the wandering mage named Matubaya murmured to himself. "A new order must be established for it is coming. The cataclysmic disaster will soon reach this plane and it is still not ready." He repeated these phrases as he slowly walked to the next war-torn city, towards the direction of the final confrontation.

Summoner Card Design

Reformer Matubaya's name is of course derived from Yabapmatt. Just like how he is a reformer intending to change the order in Praetoria, Matt has also been the new head of Steem Monsters. This is why his summoner ability is directly tied to the Rebellion set which was the first one he handled with full control since taking over.

Signum Rebellionis - or Sign of the Rebellion. Reformer Matubaya can only unlock his summoner abilities if all units under him have the Signum meaning they should be from the Rebellion set. This is signified by the chain around them. Otherwise, he will be a 7-mana neutral summoner with no abilities.

I hope you guys like my summoner concept. I know it may be a bit imbalanced but I liked the idea of having him be the all-encompassing face of Rebellion. @thepeoplesguild
