I made a few posts in the past discussing Telegram and why the app was soaring in popularity recently. This is in part due to the rise of tap-to-airdrop projects that emerged from the platform.

DOGS: Airdrop Done Right

And just a few days ago, one of said projects released their airdrop allocation to the community. And unlike the disaster that Pixelverse caused, DOGS stayed true to their promise and airdropped 100% of the tokens they promised their community supporters. And while they are not a complicated project and might be considered a memecoin, they gained the trust and backing of the crypto community.

And because of this highly positive reputation, despite the token dumping of airdrop recepients, there was an even greater number of users who decided to take their positions in the project. This caused a significant spike in DOGS' value.

Exchange Listings

Another impressive feat that DOGS has achieved is that it caught the attention of the top centralized exchanges such as Binance, OKX, KuCoin, and Gate.io among others.

They are also running promotional events on these exchanges which entices new investors to the project. Even some of the early adopters are doubling down on their token positions as well.

Is Telegram The New Memecoin Meta?

So why did I suggest that Telegram could be the new hub for the next generation memecoin? Telegram already has millions of users in their platform. And it's not that hard to promote a new project. They can be cross-marketed from other existing and popular projects by making it a task or quest for a user to join a new app in exchange for points.

The hype of play-to-airdrop is also still very strong. And the successful execution of DOGS further bolstered the faith of the community to these projects. From what I can tell, it doesn't take much resources to create a tap-to-earn application. But even by just making users interact with the project on a daily basis, it creates a bond between the project and the community. There are still dozens of projects biding their time for the right moment to release their tokens. And I wouldn't be surprised if this memecoin trend continues even into the next year.
