Talento Sotera Contest [SPA/ENG]

Hola, espero estén teniendo un maravilloso día. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes, un poco de mi experiencia al participar en el Concurso Talento Sotera. Tengo mucho que decir al respecto y justo por eso, me pareció buena idea hacer este post. Hay ciertas cosas que me habría gustado documentar y así mostrar todo de mejor manera, sin embargo, en el momento opté por enfocarme de lleno en el concurso.

Hi, I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today I want to share with you a little bit of my experience participating in the Sotera Talent Contest. I have a lot to say about it and that's why I thought it was a good idea to make this post. There are certain things that I would have liked to document and thus show everything in a better way, however, at the time I chose to focus fully on the contest.

La primera fase constó de dos vídeos, uno de presentación y el otro, era el proceso de creación de un dibujo, una manualidad o algo por el estilo. Yo dibujé a Nana, uno de mis personajes originales y quedé muy complacida con el resultado, aquí se los muestro. Fue un poco extraño y a la vez interesante verla con el cabello oscuro, porque su tono original es bastante claro.

The first phase consisted of two videos, one of presentation and the other was the process of creating a drawing, a craft or something like that. I drew Nana, one of my original characters and I was very pleased with the result, here I show you. It was a bit strange and at the same time interesting to see her with dark hair, because her original shade is quite light.

Me alegra poder decir que, superé dicha fase con una puntuación de 89/100 la más alta, tres participantes compartimos dicho puntaje y fue bastante chévere porque se inscribieron más de 100 personas, así que había mucha competencia. En base a estas puntuaciones eligieron 6 finalistas y el día de hoy se realizó la última fase, en la tienda Sotera 3000 ubicada en C.C. Monagas Plaza en la ciudad de Maturín. Solo nos dieron una hora de llegada y aclararon que, no hacía falta llevar ningún tipo de material artístico, todo lo demás fue sorpresa.

I am happy to say that I passed this phase with a score of 89/100 the highest, three participants shared this score and it was pretty cool because more than 100 people signed up, so there was a lot of competition. Based on these scores they chose 6 finalists and today was the last phase, in the Sotera 3000 store located in C.C. Monagas Plaza in the city of Maturín. They only gave us a time of arrival and clarified that it was not necessary to bring any kind of artistic material, everything else was a surprise.

Yo hablé con mi papá y él me hizo el favor de llevarme hasta el sitio, estas son algunas fotos que tomé en el proceso. Este fue un punto a favor, en temas de respetar horarios y todo eso, pues llegué un poco antes de la hora fijada. Luego pasó un buen rato, esperamos la llegada de los demás participantes y al final solo fuimos 4/6 finalistas.

I talked to my dad and he did me the favor of taking me to the site, these are some pictures I took in the process. This was a plus, in terms of respecting schedules and all that, because I arrived a little before the scheduled time. Then a good time passed, we waited for the arrival of the other participants and in the end we were only 4/6 finalists.

Nos explicaron toda la información respectiva relacionada a Talento Sotera y luego nos hablaron de los parámetros de la última fase. Esta consistía en grabar un vídeo en la tienda, mientras esta estaba funcionando como habitualmente lo hace, atendiendo clientes y cosas así. El propósito del vídeo era que cada uno promocionara un producto diferente, estos los asignaron al azar y nos dieron 10 minutos para preparar todo.

They explained all the respective information related to Talento Sotera and then they told us about the parameters of the last phase. This consisted of recording a video in the store, while it was working as it usually does, serving customers and things like that. The purpose of the video was for everyone to promote a different product, they were randomly assigned and we were given 10 minutes to prepare everything.

Yo pasé de tercera y me tocaron unos marcadores mágicos de la marca Pointer, también me dieron una hoja y en ella realicé varias formas, para mostrar el trazo de los marcadores. Leí las instrucciones y ya teniendo una idea general de lo que quería hacer, empezaron los intentos para grabar el vídeo. Me gustó el resultado, considero que lo hice estupendamente y llevé a cabo todo lo que tenía en mente, mostré el empaque de los marcadores cerrado y abierto, así enseñé los colores disponibles, expliqué su uso, mostré el trazo, realmente sentí que estaba vendiendo el producto.

I passed third and I got some magic markers of the brand Pointer, they also gave me a sheet of paper and on it I made several shapes, to show the stroke of the markers. I read the instructions and already having a general idea of what I wanted to do, the attempts to record the video began. I liked the result, I think I did a great job and I carried out everything I had in mind, I showed the packaging of the markers closed and open, so I showed the colors available, I explained their use, I showed the stroke, I really felt I was selling the product.

Una vez grabamos todos los vídeos, tuvimos una pausa y después de un rato, nos dieron los resultados. Eran dos premios, Rosangel y María José fueron las ganadoras, en esta oportunidad no gané más que experiencia, pero me siento sumamente orgullosa y feliz con mi desenvolvimiento, di lo mejor de mí hasta el final. Hice un montón de cosas nuevas, la pasé increíble y conocí personas maravillosas en el proceso, realmente fue una salida muy amena.

Once we recorded all the videos, we had a break and after a while, they gave us the results. There were two prizes, Rosangel & María José were the winners, this time I did not win more than experience, but I feel extremely proud and happy with my performance, I gave the best of me until the end. I did a lot of new things, I had an incredible time and met wonderful people in the process, it was really a very enjoyable outing.

La experiencia fue total y absolutamente enriquecedora, amé demasiado lo que hice. Aprendí mucho, me sentí muy a gusto y una vez más, disfruté estar en cámara. Cada vez es más evidente, lo bien que la paso al hacer vídeos y esto es algo bastante sorpresivo para mí, no esperaba tener una adaptación tan rápida y agradable, tomando en cuenta lo nueva que es esta actividad en mi vida.

The experience was totally and absolutely enriching, I loved what I did. I learned a lot, I felt very comfortable and once again, I enjoyed being on camera. It is becoming more and more evident how much fun I have making videos and this is something quite surprising for me, I did not expect to have such a quick and pleasant adaptation, considering how new this activity is in my life.

Casi olvidé mencionar que, nos dieron un pequeño regalo al resto de participantes y a mí me pareció súper chévere, no lo esperaba. Nos dieron un lapicero de tinta azul, uno de tinta negra, un resaltador, un lápiz y un tarjeta de agradecimiento. Yo encantada de que me dieran un resaltador morado, es la primera vez que tengo uno de mi color favorito y lo adoro, está muy bonito.

I almost forgot to mention that we were given a little gift for the rest of the participants and I thought it was super cool, I wasn't expecting it. They gave us a blue ink pen, a black ink pen, a highlighter, a pencil and a thank you card. I was delighted to be given a purple highlighter, it's the first time I have one in my favorite color and I love it, it's very pretty.
