Long Overdue

Fragmentation

Carefully, with care, I divide myself into parts.

Slowly with surgical precision I separate the particles.

The pain is overwhelming.

I cut the parts into smaller and smaller pieces.

My precision surrenders to fear.

The knife of my concentration dulls the blade on the daily routine.

Parts become uneven, their edges jagged.

More and more crumbs, shreds, wastelands emerge.

I am shrinking

I am crumbling

I disintegrate.

podwojne pioro zlote gradient.png

Do straight paths always lead to dead ends?
Can you recall that one moment in your head when you make a completely conscious decision? Can you name at least one such moment when, with full freshness and clarity of mind, you decide to take this or that path? Do you make a conscious decision every day or do you let life take you by surprise?

When I was a child the days seemed long, now they seem last for only a blink of an eye. If I don't plan my time very carefully - the things I want to do 'now' – I manage to get done after a month.

I sacrifice sleep to snatch those few more minutes for myself.

The desire to seize time for myself hardly ever leaves me. I want to stretch time indefinitely. When my body refuses to obey me (illness, migraine, etc.), I am furious, because I have again wasted time that could have been spent on something 'worthwhile'.

podwojne pioro zlote gradient.png

Valuing time

How do you value your time? Do you use trendy terms like Quality Time? Beat the clock? A stitch in time saves nine? Working around the clock? Time is on my side...

I always shy away from an arbitrary understanding of words. That's why I like poetry.

We talk about time all the time. It's probably the most abstract concept that is so tightly stitched into our everyday life. We feel its passage, we see it in the mirror, we feel it in the air.

How often we say:

I waste time

I take up time

I find time

Need time

Kill time

When the most beautiful of all phrases is:

I have time

I have time for you.
I have time to think about it.
I have time to listen to you.

podwojne pioro zlote gradient.png

About drawing

Quite often I allow myself the nonchalance of not planning my drawings. Since I haven't had much time for this kind of exercise lately - I decided not to put myself under pressure to draw intentionally. Whatever came up in my head – will appear on the paper. Today, I leave the interpretation entirely up to you, my dears:)

Scroll Of Time

I bought a roll of drawing paper some time ago. But! the idea of what to do with it was simmering in my head for quite a long time. Plus it's quite risky considering how clumsy I am.

I have the best intentions to cover this roll of paper with drawings from start to finish. One looooong drawing. I've already torn a section of the paper drawing the first 'scene', but oh well... it's worth a try, right?

Keep your fingers crossed for me:)

podwojne pioro zlote gradient.png

P.S.
You thought you were rid of me? Ha! Not gonna happen!(jet!)
I can't promise to bore you with my nonsense every day, but I'm slowly managing to scrape together some free time to pick up a pencil or tap away at the keyboard for a few minutes. I hope my willpower remains strong:)

podwojne pioro zlote gradient.png

I have missed you! How life treats you?

I wish you all a lovely week,

Strega Azure

Amazing artwork, a lot going on with different angles to view it from. Perhaps, time often seems like that to us?

Good to have you back, creating content :)

oh my gosh!!! Strega!!! You are inside my head... this resonates so profoundly with me. This artwork is incredible - more so because you allowed your soul to speak onto the page. I was feeling anxious just watching the evolution of this drawing under your hand. The many demands that grab and steal our moments and our joy from us. The stress. The pressure. The juggling. The fighting. Everything and everyone wants a piece of us. That's what it feels like some days. BUT... I sense that the being inside those grasping hands; is seeking and will find the ultimate peace. There is a resignation, a submission, but perhaps also contemplation, and perhaps prayer in some shape or form. An appeal to something higher - for the peace that we all seek amid the chaos. You know I try to stretch time too - to my great disservice. So I fully appreciate and understand where you are coming from. The fragmentation is real... and then the introspection and delayering thereafter is simply another surgical cut to the mind and heart. So many truths are revealed and faced when we are prepared to listen to the little voice inside. But we so often need to cut the wounds right open before we can heal. I love this post and I love you! I have something I'll share with you which you may find interesting and/or useful... coming to your DM later today. Welcome back, my lovely 💗

Remember I am always there, lurking about... < creepy noises >

chaos vs. peace

I like the moment when silhouettes or shapes emerge from the chaos, when there are no obvious connections at the beginning - they just slowly outline themselves over time:)

time

The search for balance and harmony in life is probably a process that doesn't really have an end. I have to be ever vigilant not to squander those few moments when I can just take a deep breath and be myself for a change.

Juggling would probably be the best metaphor - but juggling hot coals would probably be the closest to what I feel on a daily basis. When I do something just for myself I very quickly get caught up in remorse and the feeling that it's pure selfishness from my part.

I am my worst enemy unfortunately.

Interesting: resignation - submission - contemplation

You inspire me greatly! New idea is brooding in my head, thanks to you:)
So glad you've find some time not only to read all of that but leave me a few('few' ha!!) words. Really appreciate that!

🖤

I have loved every part of the process. You've done an excellent job with the lines and proportions, plus I liked the part where you talk about time. All the best!

There she is

though .. youre never far from me...even if not on hive. hehe...I count that an honored privilege 🥰

time ..

it's our most precious commodity.

my love language is quality time because that's when I feel most loved...the highest form of love for me is that ..

someone who takes time from their life and spends it on me

I bask in that gift and blossom under it.

I love this drawing too .... you are so unbelievably talented.... I love the emotion that I feel when seeing your pencil to paper
and....

I love that there is a tear in the roll of paper... because it's not just your drawing that affects the paper ..it's your fingerprints and your touch and your sweat and your scent and....that little (or big) rip

hehehe

it's the evidence that you were there

I love it. it's your mark. which makes it unique and you.

welcome home! 🥰

And there !you! are:)

I appreciate that in your busy schedule you found time for me too:))))
I need to slowly work out a good routine to stop time slipping through my fingers.

Yeah, still thinking if I should use some scotch tape to mend this tear or not. Would be safer, but I maybe it will be better to just incorporated this 'happy' accident into next drawing:)

Thank you for all kind words, you always made me blush, stop it!

Good to be back, feels right:)

hehehe "busy" is relative. LOL

i know what you mean.... i had the best of intentions this week to dedicated TIME to so many things... and here I am nearing the end of Wednesday, and i'm like.. howwww is it possible that 2 full days are gone and I didn't do what i wanted?!?!?!

hmmmm to tape the tear.... hehehe i guess it has the potential to grow... and that would be dangerous.

but i love the tear. hehehehe i do!!!!!!! LOLOLOL i would love to see how you incorporate the tear into the next drawing!!!!!!!! LOL

clever chiquita hehehe

i'm glad it feels right - oh... and i'm glad that I kept you company inthe traffic.... i loved hearing that. hehehehe

now i'm waiting for MINEEEEEEE. LOL make it a long one hehehehe

as requested - done. Hope not too depressing one:)

Yep, definitely I'll try to incorporate it, but have to glue the back, so everything will not tear apart:) I want cover this roll in full, so need to be resilient for future 'treatment':)

p.s.

my dad never understood the value of vacations until much later in life, because his family never was able to take them

when he was old enough to have his own family... he and my mom decided/promised (and kept that promise) to always take the vacations.... that it was needed and so very special and important.

there have been times that they actually forsook 'more important things' (according to the world) in order to take us on those vacations...

my dad realized that vacation time actually seemed to travel on a different timeline hahaha. they ended so fast .. so he started to pray with us...before every vacation...that God would "put the time stretchers" on the vacation.

and I will tell.you....it worked.

I dont know how the mind perceives time...I don't know how "time flies when you're having fun"... but this prayer request was answered.....and suddenly.....we were all experiencing VERY LONG, VERY FULL vacations

now that tradition has carried on!!!! hahaha

I ask for this often...and I'm granted it

it works!!! if you know Who to ask...hehehe

I had my first 'real' holiday last year, when I went to Poland for 2 weeks. In my pervious job I was just taking 'bonus' for not taking holiday days. Mostly because the way I was raise too - both my parents never took sick days or holidays, and both was working over 30 years of their lives. So sounds very similar like your story:)

My oldest brother 'broke the spell' and even though he has very demanding and responsible role at work - he is taking a vacation twice a year with his whole family. I should probably learn from this, but didn't yet have found 'my way' to spend free time properly if you know what I mean.

I am not very keen on travelling, mainly because I have been travelling a lot for a while for business and the very thought of sitting in an airport makes me nauseous.

What I enjoy the most are one or two day trips to places almost unchanged by man - overgrown forests, cliffs, rocky coastlines. So for the time being, So as for now I enjoy micro holidays from time to time:) Or maybe it's just my way of holidaying?

Stretching time.. that's my dreem:)

yes hehehe - the temptation is always .. "oh who needs a vacation- i'll just take the money and put it towards bills or investment to do more"

but no no no... we find out the sweet way after we take the vacation - how we NEED that reset so often. rest in all forms is so important! I'm so glad that you got your first real holiday eheheh

and yep - the parents - same mentality - same culture hahahaha

and it doesn't even matter how long the vacation is at times - just take smaller ones more often if you can - and relax! :) no airports needed hehehehe

you know what? i actually like airport travel though hehehe i only dont' like when i have to go to the bathroom on the airplane! hahahaha oh - and i guess my legs getting stiff if its a long flight too hehehe

but i love traveling all over the world!!!

but i also love day trips too - but then they are over so short -
TIME STRETCHERS NEEDED PLEASE hahahahaha

I would use time stretcher, that's for sure. Was wondering if I need time shortener from time to time too - and probably I would use it too :D How about you?

I don't mine 2-3 hours on the plane, but 11-12 - not such a great fun. I've learn how to handled jet lag and all, but it is time cut off(air-travel) from my life. I cannot really sleep during flight (even long one),always get a long-lasting headache, so not much fun for me. Not to mention crowd :D What was your longest light?

hmmmm you know - i do want this time shortener.... but... i wonder if i need all that time to be fully prepared for what comes next???

i want the shortcut - but is it best for me???? i dont think i like the answer because I'm impatient hahahahahaa

so yes - i do want them.
but i think we aren't supposed to have them LOLOL

time-stretchers are granted though LOLOLOL

my longest plane ride was 12 hours i think...
Moscow - 11
Fiji - 11 or 12??
UK - 10

but my longest ever will be this December when we do the dreem meet up hehehe

To avoid visa issues for some countries - I am flying farther - so they can get easier visas! I'm excited!!!

A woman that I knew a long time ago was from this place...(can't say where it is - since i'm on blockchain heheh but i think i already told you hehe) but before meeting her? I had never heard of this place at all! So - i'm excited to see what it is like!!! plans need to start being made soon... because I found a place i liked - and already the date is taken!!! so that means it is now the time where people are booking for this location for December 2024???

crazy!

and there are not so many places that can have 7-8 bedrooms! so.... yeah... hopefully plans are made for us all soon hehehehe

i will be able to relax then LOL

I can be patient, but not by nature, just years of practise:)

11,5 hours the longest, and once there was an issue on the airport and we had to land elsewhere, so it was total 12,5 Fun:D

I am glad that you guys have a date, and something to look forward too, I am sure it will be great!
