Hit The Jackpot with Typhoon Pepito

Good evening! Finally, weather is back to normal after the parade of six typhoons in less than a month.

Even though this series of typhoons keep going towards the direction of Northern Luzon, the five typhoons weren't able to give much damage in our town and province. Except for one of my mother's plant which fell down after the strong winds of typhoon Kristine. However, the sixth typhoon was certainly the definition of "save the best for last."

Pepito, my friend!!!~

I remember going to the kitchen at 10 P.M. to put my dinner in the microwave but when I went back after an hour to wash the dishes flood has already entered our home. In my estimation, the flood was about 2 inches. Thank goodness because the heavy rain which has been going on since the afternoon weakened and stopped. As quickly as it entered our home, it was also gone in a few hours.

I was the only one awake when it happened and I wasn't able to save anything. The water dispenser on the photo was even on which made me so worried. I was contemplating on walking in the flood to turn it off but then I had an idea to use the long pvc tube my mother used as a curtain rod before. I used it to knock on my father's room which was adjacent to mine and nearer to the dispenser. When he finally responded I told him there's flood and asked him to turn of the water dispenser.

I kept going out of my room to observe the flood. We're lucky it didn't go up further. A few inches more and it will reach our rooms and that would be my worst nightmare. Lol. I wasn't able to sleep because of what happened and just made my breakfast when the floor was beginning to dry.

I made a salad with lettuce, cucumber, and cheddar cheese with a dressing made of lemon juice, olive oil, mustard sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper.

Taste isn't bad even if it was my first time making it but I dislike that the dressing kept slipping to the bottom so I have to mix the salad occasionally. I paired the salad with coffee. Glad I already had coffee in the morning because the cold weather quickly reverted to warm when the sun finally showed up.

Later that day, I remembered I still have some squid balls in the freezer so I decided to consume it and also made the Filipino street food sweet sauce. This sauce is very easy to make (water, cornstarch, sugar, salt, pepper, soy sauce, oil, onion, and garlic).

And in the afternoon, the fast charger I ordered online was delivered. I really thought the delivery date would be delayed due to the typhoon considering that it even came from another country. This has been on my cart for a long time and finally had the chance to purchase it during the 11.11 sale. Now I can charge my devices with less time. And isn't the charger cute? I find the emoticon feature amusing as well. It makes charging time less boring.

I really thought we were already safe from flood because we didn't get affected with the other typhoons. It usually takes two days of non-stop rain for flood to at least enter our house. Pepito was a surprise and I would still wonder why we got flooded that fast.

Anyway, Amihan season (Northeast Monsoon) has began. The time of the year that I love most!

Thanks for reading! 💚
