Celebrating My Extra Brother.

Our meeting was not all rosy because we had a lot issues at first. We met through a mutual and he picked interest in me. Who wouldn’t want to associate with a star girl anyway? He couldn’t wrap his head around not having me around him, so the relationship started.

It wasn’t like that of a missing rib but that of a big brother and kid sister. I looked so fragile to not have a big brother like him, he had said to me, so he opted to become my extra brother. The one my mum never had.

Talk about the lots of times we’ve fought over trivial things. In fact, we just got over one long fight that made us stay apart and non-talking for over two years, but he wouldn’t stop looking out for me. On occasions, he would reach out with different numbers to check on me probably because he thought I wouldn’t pick his calls, ask my friends about me just to be sure I was out of trouble. I’m not troublesome anyway.

Any money-making opportunity he gets, he would try to invite me to learn about it. He would hype my nonsenses and tell me how and where I was lacking so I could be better. Dulling moments has never been with him, so there was no way I could be depressed, he would always find a way to drag me out of my down moments.

My dad had asked about him once when he traveled about two hours to see me because I was sick. He visited, and said “you can’t die yet, you this girl. If you do, I’ll hunt you back to life”. Then, he brought plenty things that would make me heal fast and didn’t leave until I had a good laugh with him. It was a moment I will never forget.

We had gone out together, and on many occasions, we would randomly ask people who was the finest. We were just trying to play around. At some point, I was his business strategist, but for some reason, we couldn’t keep up the conversation around his business. Maybe we will resume now that we are back to being all talky around each other, thanks to Hive, the community that reunited us and reignited the bubbly life we once had together.

I could go on about how wonderful @moremoney28 is to me, but I’ll rather say it to him in person when we get to meet again in about two years. Or maybe wait till I meet his children so I can tell them how lucky they are to have him as their dad. Lol.

Today, I’m celebrating my big brother extra. Thank you for all you do. For showing me that the world could be better even outside blood relations. That life could get easier every day if you show love to everyone irrespective. That lighting others candle does not make yours dim. Happy birthday to you once again, brother. May your light never dim, and may the blessings of today be with you, now and forever. Don’t forget to eat pizza for two.
