Three tune Tuesday and some fun loving err bad boys...
Introduction
@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!
Our picks
This week we are are all about the Fun Lovin' Criminals. They are such an iconic band of their time although they do not seem to be played much anywhere anymore. I remember Huey was quite high profile in the UK and did quite a lot of different radio shows and appearances and always came up with some fresh tunes. There sound is very much a "New York" sound and to me I imagine New York to have them basically as a soundtrack, they should blast it out on all the street corners....They are definitely an inspiration to some of the music we make and we wish we were as cool as them!

Now this is there theme tune. If you can listen to this and not move a bit and nod your head then you are probably dead. It is such an iconic song and has all their classic parts of a cool drum loop, a blues guitar and some great lyrics. It is interesting as we have listened to this song a few times as a mix reference and the lead vocal is mixed very low. However there vibe is a definite inspiration to us!

Now this is also a classic and has all their classic features. It is funny using almost a kids name for such an adult song. I mean referencing Tarantino films is a double winner for me as I love him as a writer and director too.
Song 3
Loco is a slightly different vibe with a laid back disco/latin feel to it although is still incredibly cool. Although I guess they had good fun making the video....

Ah now you're talking, it's been way to long since I listened to Huey and the boys. Such a good vibe band, sure you'd have to be smiling listening to them. Huey had a couple of Pizza places in Dublin when I used to live there, man was it nice, best Pizza slices around, unreal! Even better after a few pints.. Cool band to have as an influence.
