The Flip Side of Things with Sex Work.

Many times, we come in contact with Sex Workers... Either in patronage of their trade, or in sight of it, sometimes we see them being harassed while doing their job by Law Enforcement Agents.

In my country, these things I mentioned above are a common sight.

Hookup is a rampant aspect of the trade now so Sex Workers do not have to stand by the road.
Technology has made their work so easy that all they need to do is set up an account on an app or Social Media and all their clients need to do is click on a button or two on that app, or some sort of Social Media network to connect with them.

It makes it easier for the clients, especially the high profile and discreet ones to do business with them and still act the saint.

In this work we take flips at the Job of Sex Workers... We take a look at perspectives of it that rarely gets discussed, We take the Focus off the Workers and beam it on other matters relating to the trade.
First let's talk about the Clients.

You know, there would be no Sex worker without a Client. It is a trade, there would be no sales if there is no one to patronise them... It begs the question, when the trade is bedeviled, painted evil, how come the Traders only get the blame?

How come no one hears anything about the Clients.
In my country, Nigeria, the Constitution gives that people who ask to pay for Sex as well as those who proffer the service are guilty of a felony, methinks... But many times when raids are carried out and arrests are made, the people paraded are females, who are the Traders. This begs the question: Were these people Servicing themselves?

Next up is: What Drives The Trade.
No Sex worker you meet will tell you they exist in the trade due to gluttony for sex or just for satisfaction... So why exactly do we have so many sex workers if the trade is not for pleasure or personal satisfaction.
The reason is in full glare... These people are in the trade because they need the money that comes from it.
So if there were jobs and perhaps encouraging environments and infrastructure for growth for these ladies, they would not be in a trade that takes away their dignity, their safety and sense of self...

So when next we speak of Sex Workers, perhaps we should take these flips into consideration. Just Maybe We would understand things better.
