SHORT STORY SERIES - The Whispering Trees by Abubakar Adam Ibrahim (A short Story Collection)
My absence was not out of my own volition. A lot of chaos but yet, we forge ahead unfazed. Its kinda like the Nigerian mentality. Now I don't mean we enjoy suffering, or hardship; but we are tough mo*fu**. We can survive in the harshest situations. I lost all my ebooks, and I start to wonder why I didn't back any of them up. I am getting back some of them with time, and I also started reading again.
I was going through my ebook reader, searching for a book to read when I stumbled on The Whispering Tree. It was a collection of short stories written by a Nigerian, and it really made me excited, but alas only one of the stories was available; THE GARBAGE MAN. I was really disappointed because the story was so good, I wanted to read the rest of it. I will have to go in search of the book.

PURPOSE
I feel like this is a strong message of using your brain as opposed to following your heart. I feel like I let the cat out of the bag already, lol.
I really enjoyed reading this. It had that high level of simplicity and the decompression by the author was stellar. I could relate to what the author was describing on a natural level. You know when a story effortlessly reflects the everyday life of a person; the culture, lifestyle, etc. It was a beautiful read. I was looking forward to the rest of the story but alas, only one was available. I would rate it a 7/10 and I would recommend it to everyone, as it might speak to you in a more deep way, or just be another satisfactory read.

Your brevity and straight to the point style is superb. Although straight to the point, one can easily picture the whole picture (if I could say that) of the book.
Your review of the book has stired the urge to read it ASAP!
Thanks for sharing!

Why do I sense a disloyalty and betrayal from Zainab already even though I haven't read the book? 😅 Seems interesting, wish I could read the whole story already.
Well reviewed
Yeah, you really should... The other stories may just be so good than this one 🥲
😅
Nigerian authors are really good
No doubt about that!
