ENGLISH

Hello my African brothers and sisters, and all those who appreciate African music. This is Stefanovah once again and I'm here once again for Afritunes here on Hive. It's December, we are in week 92 and I just wanna acknowledge the musicians who have presented all them wonderful entries here so far and wish everyone compliments of the season.... I'm glad we all made it to the last month of the year and by God's grace I believe we'll see the end of this last month we've begun.

So this week my entry is Olorun Agbaye by the one and only pastor Nathaniel Bassey. This man is a system, a role model to almost every gospel music artist in Nigeria. On this song he makes an international collaboration with maverick city's Chandler Moore and another gospel artist from south west Nigeria that goes by the name Óba.... I remember when I first heard this song in 2020 after the lockdown, it was steady on repeat and the message was crystal clear. The song just talks about the might and splendour of the most high king and every single time I listen to it I find myself in awe of Yahweh.

When I started recording this video I found out that doing this song acapella and alone isn't as easy as I had thought. I found myself doing both calls in the chorus and responding with "you are mighty o" and the other part. Then I got to the end and realised I don't understand Yoruba as well as I thought, those chants are not for the weak at all. I decided to live to fight another day.... Anyway, in spite of it all, it was really great making this cover. I hope you enjoy it, and it blesses someone.

Lyrics

You are Good, you are kind
You are more than these
I'm lost for Words trying to describe you
Elohim, El-elyon, Aleselewi
Your Greatness is all I see
There is nothing you cannot do
There's no mountain you cannot move
If you have said it
Then you will do it
Cause You have a Track record
Of keeping Words
And you're not about
To stop doing it now

Olorun Agbaye oh
(You are Mighty oh)
