Rovereto is an Italian city in the province of Trento which is located in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. Rovereto is located almost in the center of Vallagarina and is crossed by the Adige river, the second longest river in Italy. The altitude is 204 m above sea level.
In Rovereto you can visit several museums, among which there are some of an international nature. Walking in Rovereto is like walking among art, history, science and the Venetian atmosphere of the historic center.

Rovereto is also called the "City of Peace", where the Bell of the Fallen rings one hundred tolls every evening against every war.

Rovereto è una città italiana in provincia di Trento che si trova nella regione del Trentino-Alto Adige. Rovereto è situato quasi al centro della Vallagarina ed è percorso dal fiume Adige, il secondo fiume più lungo d’Italia. L’altitudine è 204 m sul livello del mare.
A Rovereto si possono visitare diversi musei tra i quali ce ne sono alcuni di carattere internazionale. Passeggiare a Rovereto è come camminare tra arte, storia, scienza e le atmosfere veneziane del centro storico.

Walking through the streets of Rovereto you come across this small church which is the Archpriest Church of San Marco. This church was built during the period of the dominion of the Serenissima (Republic of Venice). In the history of this church there is a truly particular event. Two organs are kept inside the church and one of these was used by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to play his first concert in Italy.

Passeggiando per le vie di Rovereto ci si imbatte in questa piccola chiesa che è la Chiesa Arcipretale di San Marco. Questa chiesa venne costruita durante il periodo del dominio della Serenissima (Repubblica di Venezia). Nella storia di questa chiesa c’è un evento davvero particolare. All’interno della chiesa sono custoditi due organi ed uno di questi fu utilizzato da Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart per suonare il suo primo concerto in Italia.

Palazzo del Ben is an eighteenth-century residence. This palace was wanted by the Dal Ben family and then acquired by the counts of Arco in the 16th century.
The palace, in pure Renaissance style, attracts attention for its magnificent decorations.

Palazzo del Ben è una residenza dell’epoca settecentesca. Questo palazzo fu voluto dalla famiglia Dal Ben poi venne acquisito dai conti d’Arco nel XVI.
ll palazzo, in puro stile rinascimentale, attira l’attenzione per le sue magnifiche decorazioni.

Not far from Piazza San Marco we find the Clock Tower, also called the Civic Tower of Rovereto.
One of the things that you immediately notice is the door, which dates back to 1300, then in 1500 the civic tower was built. The clock was inserted into the tower around 1520.

Poco distante da piazza San Marco troviamo la Torre dell’Orologio, anche chiamata, Torre Civica di Rovereto.
Una delle cose che si nota immediatamente è la porta, la quale risale al 1300, poi nel 1500 è stata costruita la torre civica. L’orologio fu inserito nella torre verso il 1520.

Rovereto also has a castle, Il Castello di Rovereto, which is also home to the Historical War Museum.
This castle was built in the 14th century by the Castelbarco family, a family that dominated the Val Lagarina at the time.
During the domination of the Serenissima, the structure was expanded with the addition of mighty towers and a moat to make the castle even safer. The walls were also thickened.
This castle is also called Castel Veneto and is recognized as one of the most complete and interesting Alpine fortifications of the Venetian type.
Inside the towers there is a collection of weapons and armor used between the 16th and 18th centuries.

Rovereto possiede anche un castello, Il Castello di Rovereto, che è anche la sede del Museo Storico della Guerra.
Questo castello venne costruito nel XIV secolo dalla famiglia Castelbarco, famiglia che a suo tempo dominava la Val Lagarina.
Durante la dominazione della Serenissima, la struttura venne ampliata con l’aggiunta di possenti torrioni e un fossato per rendere ancora più sicuro il castello. Furono anche ispessite le mura.
Questo castello viene chiamato anche Castel Veneto ec è riconosciuto come una fra le più complete ed interessanti fortificazioni alpine di tipo veneto.
All’interno dei torrioni c’è una collezione di armi e armature utilizzate fra il XVI e XVIII secolo.

The MART is located in Rovereto. the Mart is one of the most important and famous Italian museums dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Its structure is very beautiful and can easily be considered an architectural masterpiece and in fact it is because it was designed by the Ticino architect Mario Botta (Swiss architect and sculptor born in 1943 in Mendrisio).
This museum was built around a square topped by an iconic glass and steel dome. One of the main features of this dome is that it measures 40 meters in diameter, exactly like the Pantheon in Rome.
This museum is open all year round and offers temporary exhibitions, events, workshops and guided tours.

A Rovereto si trova il MART. il Mart è uno dei più importanti e famosi musei italiani dedicati all’arte moderna è contemporanea. La sua struttura è molto bella e può essere tranquillamente ritenuta un capolavoro architettonico ed infatti lo è perché è stato progettato dall’architetto ticinese Mario Botta (architetto e scultore svizzero nato nel 1943 a Mendrisio).
Questo museo è stato costruito attorno a una piazza sovrastata da un iconica cupola in vetro e acciaio. Una delle caratteristiche principali di questa cupola è che misura 40 metri di diametro, esattamente come il Pantheon di Roma.
Questo museo è aperto tutto l’anno e propone mostre temporanee, eventi, laboratori e visite guidate.

As described before, the MART museum in Rovereto hosts modern art sculptures and some of these are also visible outside when the museum is closed. Therefore the museum can also be visited from the outside and you can admire some works and the wonderful architecture of the museum.

Come descritto prima il museo MART di rovereto ospita sculture d’arte moderna e alcune di queste sono visibili anche all’esterno quando il museo è chiuso. Quindi il museo è visitabile anche all’esterno e si possono ammirare alcune opere e la stupenda architettura del museo.

Walking through the city you can admire the historic walls
Walls were built around the city, the first part of which was built in the 14th century at the request of Gugliemo di Castelbarco. The intent was to create protection for the castle. This city wall was expanded during the Venetian domination of the 15th century

Attorno alla città furono costruite delle mura di cui la prima parte vennero edificate nel XIV secolo su richiesta di Gugliemo di Castelbarco. L’intento era quello di creare una protezione al castello. Questa cinta muraria fu ampliata durante la dominazione veneta del XV secolo

In Rovereto you can walk through its characteristic streets or even stop in some beautiful parks. Rovereto is a city that has a strong respect for nature. Urban areas have not invaded public green spaces which remain available to their inhabitants and visitors.

A Rovereto si può passeggiare tra le sue vie caratteristiche oppure sostare anche in qualche bellissimo parco. Rovereto è una città che ha un forte rispetto per la natura. Le aree urbane non hanno invaso il verde pubblico che rimane a disposizione dei suoi abitanti e dei visitatori.

Rovereto is a city in northern Italy that has managed to preserve its history and provides a nice variety of museums. It is also very beautiful to visit on foot.

Rovereto è una città del nord italia che ha saputo conservare la sua storia e fornisce una bella varietà di musei. Inoltre è molto bella da visitare a piedi.
