Follow Friday: King of the blockchains?

The News

I will make brief mention of crypto prices. They are not so cheery right now, but if your $HIVE is powered up you are playing the long game anyway. Having seen some cool talks at Hivefest I have confidence that this platform will continue to grow. You can show your faith in it by recruiting friends and invest if you can afford to (not investment advice).

Prices

You may have seen that a guy is doing a Twitter poll playoff between various blockchains. Thirty two went in and Hive is one of the finalists. He is a Koinos guy, so that is likely to be the opponent. It is debatable how much such a poll means, but it would be nice to have the bragging rights for winning. Look out for that final soon. BTW I have no idea what Hathor is, but Hive beat Bitcoin in the previous round.

I ran the weekly #HiveChat on Twitter this week for the third time. You can still respond to the questions I posted that were around @Hivefest and meetups in general.

I will be updating the Hive #BritList tomorrow, so please let me know of anyone I may have missed. I run queries to try and find new joiners, but the metadata is not always reliable. I have found plenty that provide no evidence that they are actually in or from the UK. I want it to only list actual people.

Friday Follows

  • I have featured @meno before. He is posting about some guitars he is building and via comments on those posts I found @bertrayo who is also a luthier.
  • @ninjakitten is brand new on Hive and is into urban exploring (aka urbex).
  • @markjo159 is also new. He is from West Virginia and has some nice photos to share.
  • @stickupmusic is the record label of @stickupboys. They are doing lots to get musicians on Hive and to promote music in general. They are also prolific GIF creators.
  • The Stickups introduced guitarist @philsaatchi to Hive. He is posting some cool originals and covers.
  • I have known @dickturpin for some years and we find much to disagree about, but he is a funny guy who has been on Hive for a while. He reckons his account is 'throttled' as his reputation has not increased much. I would say it is down to other reasons, e.g. infrequent posts. Maybe a few people can help him get over 65 and he may stop complaining (but I am not betting on it).

Some of these get a share of the post rewards.

The End

Tomorrow is Hive Power Up Day, so see if you can add some HP to your account to get a badge. Check the post for the conditions. If you have some funds in Hive Engine that are doing nothing then why not convert them to $HIVE? Swap Hive makes that easy and has a lower cost than some alternatives. You can even get paid if you help their liquidity.

Have a great weekend.

This Blockchain battle will definitely leave a positive impact on people coming over to that in the future or even now.

Good to see Hive won Semi final with big difference. Ain't ever heard about Hathor either but let's see who's next Blockchain hive will crush.

Looking for the Power Up day was waiting for it since I powered up on first of Sep!

Hive is cheap now we will be doing ourselves a favor by stacking up now. Bear market won’t last forever

Only if you can afford to of course. I do feel that $HIVE could go much higher eventually, but we may have to wait a while and need to keep doing what we can to help it.

It's all about the long game here. I also don't know what Hathor is and not going to look it up.

Thanks for the follow mention. It was cool finding another luthier in Hive.

It's true that now hive are not too expensive and not many people have bought hive, but if hive are expensive then people will get caught.

Buying crypto any time is a risk, but at least it can give you a return on Hive and you can earn it even if you don't buy any.

I'm sure hive will get a return from investing elsewhere

Very generous @steevc, I mentioned it to @ninjakitten. She doesn't have a clue yet, and all these 'helpful tools' like Hive-Now don't work for new accounts. - @penguinpablo

The stats are showing now.

It worked, then didn't, then did again. These tools are odd.

This still doesn't work, different rules. I asked the witness who wrote it, but he didn't reply. Who would know.., and could give answers?

Maybe try the main Hive discord. I don't know if these sites cache data and take a while to find new accounts. The data is in the blockchain anyway.

I can only imagine it's something such as a caching issue. Reading the data with a block reader works but doesn't generate the best view.

There's not really much in the way of stats until someone has been active for at least a week, but she's doing well on rewards so far.
