Vikings Valhalla

First of all, thank you, Netflix , for releasing the third and final season, yes I would want more about the story of Greenland that seems unresolved.

Now let me write about the series not one season particular.
I was always looking forward to this series since I consider the original Vikings one of the best things I've seen, and I wish they had extended it for 40 more seasons—I wouldn't have minded.
Even the fact that this spin-off takes place in the same universe 100 years later is a pat on the back, signaling that not everything is over.

So, I started it with great joy and moderate expectations. Ideally, I would have liked to see Ragnar, Bjorn, and Lagertha, but okay, they all died, so let's move on.

Overall, it was fine, I can't say I got bored.

Positives:

It's Vikings.

The whole aspect of the conflict between religions, which was nicely introduced in the original series, is interesting and seems like ideal ground for this spin-off to develop.

Classic nice music, okay.

Costumes, sets, landscapes are amazing, okay.

There's still that feeling when they win a battle that we won, brothers; take that, English Christians, etc.

Negatives:

There are quite a few negatives. Inevitably, they come from comparing it to the original Vikings series.

Firstly, we don't have such interesting characters. I'm not saying they all need to be comic reliefs like Floki. But they should have a story, a personality, a motive, something.
In the original Vikings, even the secondary characters had depth. In contrast, here, the secondary characters (like Father Cleomenes and Queen Emma) are more interesting than the protagonists.
The casting doesn't help either. Most actors look like they were found by Googling "human." No distinct faces. Also, the coverage of the population with mohawks, shavings, and tufts is 0%.
And it seems that the reason they didn't develop the characters was due to a rush to deliver battle, blood, and sieges to avoid losing the audience.

Finally, the fact that someone offered themselves for sacrifice voluntarily was wow and chilling the first time we saw it. Now, 2-3 minutes to see this scene doesn’t shock anyone. Generally, since the era hasn't changed much from the original Vikings, it doesn't offer new elements, thus losing this advantage as a series.

Anyway, if you liked Vikings, you won't wait to read any opinion. You'll watch it.

If you didn't like Vikings, don't watch it.

If you haven't seen Vikings, watch Vikings.

The Original Vikings was the best. Vikings Valhalla did not lived up to the Vikings name but it was nice.

The last season is waiting for me... And I will watch it. But I know I don't have to have a big expectaction... 😉 IMHO the first 3 season of Vikings were great. The end and the start of Valhala were a bit... It is the same like Narcos and Narcos Mexico eg.
I will see.. 😉

There are some that believe Narcos Mexico were better I wonder if they had some the staff that they were sniffing.
