Anatomy of a fall / Anatomie d'une chute

The film is the winner of this year's Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival (making its director, Justine Triet, the third female director to win the Palme d'Or, after Campion, thirty years ago, and Ducournau, two years ago, with emetic of 'Titane', to precede) and the first winner of the Phoenix, since 2011, to be released in our own theaters, after such a short time since the Festival (once and for all in the decade 2012-2021, the winning film , was released here, always between October - February, which broke last year, 'Triangle of Sorrow', releasing on 16/09, with 'Anatomy', now, surpassing it, releasing on 31/08 and while initially, it had announced for 24/08!).

Despite the fact that Triet has made eight films from 2007 to date, 'Anatomy' is only the second to be distributed in Greece - it was preceded by her previous one, in 2019, entitled 'Sex & Psychoanalysis / Sibyl', a good film with the likes of Virgine Efira and Adele Exarchopoulos, but also Garspard Ulliel, in the last film he made that was released before his death.

4 years later, Triet is back with her flawless 'Anatomy', to deservedly win the top prize at Cannes. But regardless of the award and the premise, I knew how much I wanted to see the film when I found out that it stars my favorite German actress, the great Sandra Hüller, whom I first met (as many people still do) in 2016, when she was in the really bad movie 'Toni Erdmann', in which, despite the lousy script and role she was given, she managed to shine with her performance and win me over, making me follow her closely ever since, without, of course, having many opportunities for this, since, for better or worse, not so many German films are distributed (as opposed to French films, for example - after all, 'Anatomy' is also a French production, for which, in fact, Hüller studied French intensively in order to play in the film speaking French, in addition to English), but all in all, it's a joy to watch her act (soon, she'll be seen in Jonathan Glazer's much-anticipated 'The zone of interest', which was also up for this year's Palme d'Or).

In the 150-minute film, Hüller now plays a married writer whose husband is found dead from a fall outside their home, from which their child was missing and she was the only one in it at the time. , stating, however, that she did not perceive anything, considering that he committed suicide, when she saw him dead. A theory that will be disputed by the authorities who will accuse her of murdering him. What really happened, how and why, justice will try to discover in a trial that will draw attention to her and bring to light every hidden detail of her marital and family life, in a shocking, dramatic, judicial thriller, with the Hüller to deliver an acting lesson in one of the best performances and roles of her film career.
