they are warriors that divide a poem

verses are sold in popular markets

although sometimes they are bought in bookstores

verses are the middle part of a stanza

verses are a motionless accordion

verses are not romance languages

they are ways of shouting at each other

verses are extraterrestrial testimonies

verses are a set of underwear

where the pieces never fit.
