The Moral Rebel in "Me" !
A man dies when he refuses to stand up for that which is right. A man dies when he refuses to stand up for justice. A man dies when he refuses to take a stand for that which is true. - (Martin Luther King, Jr.)
Before I go ahead with my thought it is better to bring clarity between two similar looking words. People often uses helping others and stand up for others in same context. However, if we look sharply, we find both are completelly different. Helping others is used when people feel empathy on certain situation and lend a helping hand with whatever way you can. On the other hand, Stand up for others means to love and to care about others in order to provide them understanding, opportunities, etc. it is like taking care with open heart and mind.
Standing up requires a moral rebels in the attitude. People with morals rebels tend to have high empathy level, so they are pretty good at putting themselves in somebody else's shoes. They do not tend to worry so much about what others think or feel about them, and that makes it easier to speak up or act openly.
Standing up for someone or something, is a situation when you defend them and make your feelings or opinions very clear. They stood up for what they believed to be right.
Standing up is not evrybody game. Every human goes through a period of invincibility to vulnerability at certain point in our life. Even if realizing their situation if we do not stand up for those, who are vulnerable, then who will stand up for us when we are vulnerable? Standing up for injustice, standing up for cruelty, standing up for someone right are few of the example. But it requires a lot of courage and strength to step ahead and stand up.

Strong people stand up for themselves, but stronger people stand up for others
My Empathy level.
It seems to be is in my genes to always stand up for the things which are true. First it was my brought in the family and then been to some tougher situation in the initial phases of career that never allow me to see an individual being exploited in wrong ways. Be it anyone even my junior who works for me and help to attain the company objective.
I always stand up for the support of the my subbordinates. After been into gruelling phases of challennges and tougher job condition, I manage to reach to a good position in my carrer. More power comes with more responsibilty. When I was appointed as Manager in my department I was pretty sure that I wont let my team to suffer much. I never wanted any other employee of the team ever get through the same treatment or hardship that I went through in my career. I was there for my 22 strong team membe. They were ready to do anything at the work front as per my instruction and guidance. I always ensure they never face any kind of problem either in personal or official life. I always made sure to give them the flexibility and liberty, this is what made a good working environment. A manager acts as a bridge between the lower level of management and the top level of management. And I was that bridge for my team and the management.
A good managers always thrive to work towards development of their team. Always be in touch, be accessible and approachable. This is what difrentiate them from others. Make time for them, make it clear that you care about their ideas and experiences at work, that you value their work and their input
Me and My Team at work
We develop a very a cohesive bonding between me and my team members. But the office politics does not let it last lonnger. Seeing the bonding in our team, and the enhanced performances of the teams, few people started creating nussiance
Office politics alwsys tend to spoil a healthy working environment and that what happened with me and my team.
A company would get a good result if they offer flexibility and good working condition to their employee this is what I did. my team was open to work at any hours of they day. and they were very much aware of the deliverable, and this is what make others feel jealous and started over talking about my team. Such noises reaches to the mangement ears. Who were more concerned of follwoing the office decorum and protocol rather than the results. I tried to convince them these are the same team that are giing them the daily output and completeing all tasks on time They were upto the TAT (Turn Around Time). But the management has other things to concern and they started putting restriction and check onnour team. In all these time, I never led my team to know anything and alwsys stand up for them in front of the management. It was a tough testing time.

The End Results
Such development alwsys gives a sour experince in life. My continous support to my team brings a huge gap between me and management. On the other hand it made a stringer relation between me and my team. Later, I changed my company after a while and prefered a individual contributor role rather than handling a team. The old team member are still in my touch and we exchange few talks now and then. They still wanted me to come back as their superior.
It was not that I ran away from the situation. By the time I left, I alresdy relived few of the team member to different organisation where I had my reach. The condition at workplace was no more favourable, so opting out was only option left and I went ahead further in my career.
Peace!!

It's the company's loss.
The politics in organizations these days is becoming something else.
You defending and standing up for your subordinates is the best.
Thanks for sharing.
I find it hard to comprehend the strict office etiquette as well. Personally, I share your perspective that once deliverables are achieved, employees should have the freedom and autonomy to explore and grow, taking responsibility for their tasks.
P.S. Is that a photo of a snake? Snake scares the shit out of me 😖
