Durga Puja Temple Visit on #wednesdaywalk

avatar

Comes the festival time and there is something in the atmosphere that make the ocassion very bright. As we have ongoing Durga Puja we did walk down to the nearby temple to offer prayers. It used to be a daily routine.

Unlike the city temple, village temple are very quite and peaceful place. Our temple is also a good place to spend some amount of time. And this time i will surely run you through the the entire temple area on my #wednesdaywalk.

Due to the festival time i get little late in posting.

This running horse is part of a chariot that were ocassionally used in temple. There are two horses on either side of it, to give a good old time chariot look. The horses were in running position.

The chariot is a temple property and noone dare to mess with it. It is made up of iron and used to pull manually. You can call it a hand made pulley which requires a good effort to move, especially when it crosses through the rough village fields.

Actually, our temple is located outside thr main residential place. It was an old thinking of making such place outside thr vicinity of people area. So the temple is at quite place amid lush green surrounding. It has open green fields all over the place. And really makes the place very attractive during this time of the year when we had farming all over the place.

One would certainly feel blessed and energetic by mediating at this place. The temple has an old well. It was constructed at many years ago , and one could fetch water from it only for temple purpose. Sometimes villagers used it to get water to drink. But no other purpose.

The well has a pulley to fetch the water, and it does give some old good lifestyle of yesteryear. This wellnis outside the main temple vicinity. And looks good surrounding the green fields.

Beside thr well we have am old mango try, which doesn't have any life. Yet it remain standing there. Ever after so many years and after many storm it remain standing strong. Noone even dare to cut it as they belive it unauspicious.

I find it very interesting, as even the dead tree gives some good vibes at this place. I find this shot as my best for the dsy, with clear sky and bright Sunny day. The walk was very fruitful and feel quite relaxed at the end.

It is a tradition in indian culture to walk barefoot to temple. No footwear is allowed. So after walking down a good 3km I refer to sit and relax a bit. I felt rored a bit, but the atmosphere at the temple just makes everything so peaceful and relaxing.

As part of the #wednesdaywalk it really make sense to share some of the insight of village lifestyle. This is how thr people have been living in here since long. And they really enjoyed to be part of here.

I really enjoyed my day, and after spending good amount of time at temple 🛕 I felt quite relaxed and blessed. Hope you enjoy this little walk. I didn't have more #photographs as camera is prohibited inside the temple. But the picturesheque natural beauty just made my day.

Peace!!

Namaste @steemflow

That is very interesting that you have to walk barefoot to the temple. Does the temple is near the cemetery?
Here in Bali, we usually pray for Durga in a temple called Dalem which is a temple for the Balinese Hindu Cemetary.

Never near to cemetery.....you may find Shiva idol near a cemetery.....generally temples are built far away places from a cemetery.
