Why I Decided to Buy the Oraimo Laptop Power Bank
For a long while, I have imagined being able to charge my laptop with a power bank. This was what made me get to know about power stations in the first place, as it was the only type of power bank that could charge my laptop since I was using a laptop that didn't have a thunderbolt Power Delivery (PD) type C USB port C.
I almost got a power station, but instead I went for something bigger, I built a solar power system, which took a toll on my finances. I tried to see it as an investment as it would really reduce the need to spend every time on buying gas for my generator.
The solar system has been incredibly helpful, especially during time like this when the rain falls consistently and there is no light or power. Although due to the rain, my batteries don't get to charge well, and my solar panels are also not on the roof of my apartment, so it makes it a lot difficult to get enough sunlight to charge the batteries.
Recently, Oraimo released a new type of power bank that got my attention. This time it is a power bank that can charge laptops via USB type C. And the sweet things is that my recent laptop has the USB type C port for Power Delivery. Though having this power bank is not an exact or really important need for me because I already have two power banks, one is 40,000 MAH and the other is 10,000 MAH. Both do not have the ability to charge laptops.
I felt like getting this power bank will be great for travel where I will not be with my solar system. I imagined having issues with electricity and no means to charge my laptop when I am not home. I somehow felt the need to get the power bank even though I knew it was not top of my needs and was something I could even live without and get later.
One thing I became worried about it is the delay in buying things. There is something that they say in my country and it is also true. What they say is, if you want to get something and you delay in buying it. You will end up paying twice the amount for getting that single item. This is because the prices of things rise very often due to inflation, and if one have the money to get anything, it is always advised to get it and not to delay.
The Oraimo powerbank launched at the price of #70,000 Naira, and being an Oraimo ambassador, I had it slashed for 58,000 Naira for me. I could have bought it that time at this discounted rate, but instead I waited, and two days later, I decided to check the power bank, and I saw it this time at the price of $74,500, and my personal discounted rate was #63,300.
I didn't have any choice but to order the power bank before the price increases again. I will be making full review of the power bank later. I even planned making an unboxing video for it.
I'm not sure whether this was a figure of speech or if you're actually an Oraimo ambassador. That would be super cool!
Also, if you don't mind me asking, how much would you say building the solar station cost you, and do you think it's sustainable for long term use based on it's performance and your usage so far?
I recently bought a new laptop myself, and thankfully, it comes with a Type C charging port. The battery life is amazing, so I'm not considering getting a power bank, but I have been thinking of starting to explore power bank options for PC just in case I am ever in dire need of one in the future.
This man is planning to move to Nigeria...
Would be exciting, no?😂
Yeah I don't think you will even have any need for a power bank or a solar system. I heard Ghana have a very stable power system unlike here in Nigeria.
To run my solar power station, I wrote a post on that. I think you will find all the information you need from it thre:

Finally, you got the system power you have always had in mind.
Yeah, I got something that can at least give my system a single backup.
I hope it serves you well
