Journey to HiveFest: My Purpose on the Blockchain
Before I begin to say who I am, first I appreciate the whole team behind this contest for contributing to Hive authors on the blockchain who cannot afford the ticket for HiveFest. This is a great idea for many of us.
As much as I know I would not be able to win this contest, which you will get to know the reason for as you read through this post, I also love to partake in this contest as it serves as a reminder and self-awareness of my contribution to the ecosystem and how much input I can still make into it.
Who am I really?
As many may know me through my username, I am starstrings01 and am mostly called by the name "Gifted" by many of my friends who know me in person. I joined the blockchain in June 2018 and have been part of many communities, but due to how busy my personal life schedule is, I am particularly active in the Hive Learners Community.
Most of my diary entries are about my life, what I do (i.e., Schooling, robotics, and Cloud computing), and sometimes my finances. I used to be active in the music community, but it has been over a year since I made a music video as I don't play the guitar as much as I used to.
𝖶𝗁𝖺𝗍 𝖽𝗈 𝖨 𝖽𝗈 𝗈𝗇 𝖺 𝖣𝖺𝗂𝗅𝗒 𝖡𝖺𝗌𝗂𝗌, 𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝗐𝗁𝖺𝗍 𝖨𝗇𝗂𝗍𝗂𝖺𝗍𝗂𝗏𝖾𝗌 𝗁𝖺𝗏𝖾 𝖨 𝗅𝖾𝖽 𝗍𝗈 𝗂𝗆𝗉𝖺𝖼𝗍 𝗍𝗁𝖾 𝖧𝗂𝗏𝖾 𝖤𝖼𝗈𝗌𝗒𝗌𝗍𝖾𝗆
For over 4 years on the blockchain, my true purpose has always been to be of value to the chain. How can I contribute to people in the Hive Ecosystem? After so much thought and thinking, I discovered the Newbies Initiative, whose main purpose is to serve as a guide to people who find their way on Hive, support them, and guide them with everything they need to know towards finding a purpose and a direction, like I have done.
The purpose of the Newbies Initiative has always been to make Hive an enjoyable place for people who may see the chain as difficult, having access to mentors and guidance while building relationships with newbies alike.
I started the Initiative from my personal account before @newbies-hive was created specifically for its purpose, and it has been running since September 2020, which would make it 3 years. I have stayed active and consistent with the purpose while trying to build it into something greater than what it is now. I can say that since the initiative started, over 100 newbies have graduated, and we now have some individuals who are now able to understand and stay long-term with Hive.
This initiative is a vision; it is my purpose that I have been building and will continue to build in order to contribute to the Ecosystem. I believe there are great things it still has to offer in terms of potential contribution to the Ecosystem.
Aside from the Newbies Initiative, I have run some other projects that have not been successful due to the difficulty of keeping people in the Ecosystem. Hive Bootcamp was a project I started last year that has been discontinued for the time being.
It was created to develop a training hub for people who want to join Hive and let them know everything they need to know with the resources created by my team. Then access their knowledge by taking quizzes to see if they fully understand everything we taught before an account is created for them.
This actually worked for a few people until one of the graduates plagiarised, which caused a huge effect on us and made us discouraged after all the stress placed on the teaching of the Dos and Don'ts of Hive.
The project may be discontinued but not dead, because I plan on bringing it up after school as I am still in my studies at the university and trying to balance my activities on Hive while trying to obtain good grades in School.
Doing all this and maintaining some level of consistency is not as easy as it looks, as I know people who have totally dropped all of Hive to be able to catch up with school while they don't make any contribution towards supporting the Ecosystem. It is my passion and dedication that have kept me going.

If you really want to know, then the truth is "I αɱ Cɾαȥყ AႦσυƚ HιʋҽFҽʂƚ". It has always been a dream to get in contact with other Hivers on the chain, and now that we are in Mexico, it makes it more interesting, which means @eddiespino will be around for the HiveFest.
@eddiespino has always been one of my mentors and biggest supporters on Hive, from day one. We have been in contact virtually for years, and getting to meet him and many others I may find there would be an extraordinary experience.
The HiveFest would be streamed live, but the experience would never be as good as being present in person. I believe in one thing that I keep holding on to, which is:

Whether or not I am able to attend this year's HiveFest, I believe that when the time is right, I will. Right now, let me keep doing what I am always passionate about doing, which is finding ways to keep contributing to the Hive Ecosystem.

I cannot talk about my growth here without mentioning your name as the number one person behind it. Many other people have said so as well, all because we passed through the newbies initiative founded by you. You have touched hundreds of souls in the hive ecosystem and I am a partaker of this blessing. I may have quit hive if not that you came through for me through the newbies program where you exhibit selfless sacrifices in impacting knowledge to the participants.
With your contributions so far in this Blockchain, I believe you should be one the winners to the ticket, you deserve it sincerely. However, I hope that your dream of being physically present in the hivefest will be accomplished one day if not this year!.

I am glad that my efforts on Hive have not been in vain and have been helping me grow as well. I am also glad for the lives Hive had positively contributed to through me. I remain grateful always.
