A Weekend of Unexpected Twists: Retreats and Burnt Surprises

This weekend was quite an experience. My initial plan for the weekend was to travel back to my parents's house and come back on Monday so that I could continue working on my project with my coursemates, but I changed all plans due to some particular events.

One of the first reasons why I chose to change plans was that in my church, there was going to be a retreat for the work force on Saturday morning and my plan was to travel on Friday. I was not able to attend the last retreat because I travelled so I wanted to make sure that I made myself available for it. This was the primary reason why I cancelled my trip home.

The second reason was because I was invited to play for a particular programme that was held on Friday night. The name of the program is "When Funaab Worship," and it is a yearly program that I have not attended since I started schooling in Funaab. I felt that since this is my last year at the school, it would be great if I went this last time.

I was not only planning to attend the program but also to play for a church colleague I know who was invited as a guest artist in the show. I would have the opportunity to play the guitar within the walls of Funaab for the first time. It was something I had been avoiding doing, but this time, it was not a big deal any longer.

I was lucky enough to have these pictures taken of me when I was on stage by a friend of mine who also plays the guitar. I remembered that I saw him taking some pictures of me while I was playing the guitar, so I quickly ran to his DM on WhatsApp to send me all the pictures and videos he took of me while I was playing on the stage.

I also managed to take some pictures of myself and the auditorium used for the event.

After the whole thing had ended, I got home to be totally surprised at what had happened. Before heading for this event, I had prepared stew nourished with catfish and sliced cow skin in it but when I got home, I realised I had not put off the gas and the stew was left on fire throughout the whole night.

The whole stew burned to ashes and there were no other casualties. I got back to figure out that my cooking gas had finished. I was so grateful because this incident, which looks small, could have been a lot more severe and damaging but I am glad that it wasn't.

My guy, I wish I was there to listen to you play at When FUNAAB Worships. I've missed that. I trust you would have given them them hot hot.

Speaking of hot. Bro! Catfish and cow meat, in the economy, burned? Omo. Your pain must be on another level. Now, you gave to spend a lot of time scraping that post clean and dealing with your room smelling like burnt offering.

Ooh my God
We should be thankful that nothing happened to the house because fire can be very crazy
Don’t you have neighbors who can call to tell you that you’d good was burning?
