One can only be specific to an app for this conversation. It is the apps that censor, not the blockchain. For example on 3Speak trending feed this type of down voting does not determine the ranking of the user on the trending feed on other platforms it does. But it’s all still on hive

It's all still on the Blockchain. On the raw data.
But hardly anyone is going around the apps to look at raw data. Majority are not going to be liking sifting through all that mess, which is why on the apps, such as peakd, censorship happens.

Censorship is in the apps, not the blockchain, since that very same content would still show up at the top of the feed of an app like 3Speak which uses a different trending algo.
Soon users will be able to customize their own trending feeds. So all of this wil go away, even at the app level. I would not also say that peakd is pro censorship, it’s just that they didn’t dedicate many resources to their trending feed, yet
The apps doesn't have to be pro censorship, but if you offer the gun to everyone, not everyone will treat it with the responsibility it deserves. DVs should be used for abuse only. Yet we see this wild idea that if shit posts don't get DV then the price will crash. So they do it "for the greater good". Which is baseless argument because they have nothing to prove that it makes the tokens value grow. It's just fake reasons to be a digital tyrant so they can reap rewards, at the cost of new users and current ones feeling like they have to walk on eggs shells, be a certain way here, post a certain style, follow the corporate narrative so to say.
Down votes don’t work on 3Speak and that is a hive platform. Make it make sense. I’m don’t talking to u. Ur completely lost
