Stop by the Residents' Garden
I woke up at 4:00 a.m., then wake my wife to prepare the breakfast menu. I also wake up my two children to eat sahur together so they can fast the next day. After the morning prayer I prepared all the necessities at the photocopying business. Then I do activities at the photocopying business as usual, serving consumers from photocopying needs, topping up pulses/data packages, purchasing electricity tokens, stationery & office materials and providing typing services..
On this very sunny day, I plan to go to the funeral home of a customer at my photocopy business in Alue Dua village, Nisam Antara. I left at 2:35 p.m. by motorbike via the Alue Papeun-Nisam road which is quite good even though it is a bit far, because to go to the Nisam Antara area there are many other alternative roads that can be traversed. At 15:15 I arrived at the funeral home, many guests also came to mourn. I mingled with the other guests and made small talk to warm up the atmosphere.
After few minutes i went home. On the way home, I saw that there was a resident's garden which was very shady and planted with various kinds of plants. Even though it's not so wide, I like it because of the many types of plants there. There are nutmeg trees, durian trees, rambutan trees, areca palms and pepper plants.
I ventured to enter the garden, but the owner was not there. My hunch says maybe the owner has gone home to rest after working in his garden especially since this is the fasting month and the weather is also very hot. I watched tree after tree planted in the garden thrive. I admire the craftsmanship of the garden owner, because there is hardly an inch of land that is empty other than the contents of the plants. Anything is planted, including cayenne pepper. I have a desire and desire to have a garden like that. Do not know until when…??
