Czekając na kometę

Czekając na kometę
Przegrywamy kolejne bitwy
Z kurzem, z ciałem, z Dominującym
Modelem kultury
Chowamy ostatnich poetów
W kompostowniku

Obecni oprawcy
Nawet nie chcą palić ich książek
Po prostu rozdają laury
Z plastiku, medale z kradzionego złota
Przebierańcom z domu wariatów

Ale mniejsza z jupiterami, bo nawet
Najmniejszy detal traci blask
Błotnik w aucie krzywiznę charakteru
Gzymsy i okiennice wszelkie zdobienia
W oczach ubywa wszędzie barw
W muzyce głębi, w wierszach rytmiki

W fabułach spójności i ciągłości
W rodzinach dzieci, a w sercach odwagi
Pragnienia wolności

Nasze trawniki zarastają, ale nie chabrem ani makiem
Lecz pokrzywami
Chcielibyśmy wypatrywać komety z dachu wieżowca
Ale ktoś założył kłódkę

Może uda się jeszcze zobaczyć jej warkocz
Na ostatnim skrawku nieba

Waiting for the comet

While waiting for the comet
We are losing battle after battle
With the dust, with the body, with the Dominant
Model of culture
We bury the last of our poets
In the compost heap

The current oppressors
They don't even want to burn their books
They simply hand out laurels
Of plastic, medals of stolen gold
to masqueraders from a madhouse

But never mind the spotlights, because even the
Smallest detail loses its shine
The fender in the car its curve of character
Cornices and shutters all ornamentation
In the eyes, the colors are fading away everywhere
The depth of music, rythm in poetry

Plots lacks coherence and continuity
There are fewer and fewer
Children in families, courage in people's hearts
The desire for freedom

Our lawns are overgrown, but not with cornflowers or poppies
But with nettles
We'd like to look out for a comet from the roof of a skyscraper
But someone has put a padlock

Maybe we can still see its braid
On the last patch of sky
