I Went To My Brother In Law’s Funeral
Greetings everyone! Last week my brother in law is died in 5:pm. I feel sad and so sorry for my sister family. So in the morning I drove to his house for the funeral. His house is in Battambang province on the border of Thailand, so it is very far. I have to take three different cars to get to my sister house. I arrived was at 5:00 pm and the funeral procession was over. So I did not see his last face, but I arrived just in time for his cremation at 8:00 p.m.
Although my brother-in-law died, most people do not get because too much sadness because he has been sick for many years. Most people think he is safe and well.
On the night of his cremation, many people came to attend the funeral, and many more came to play cards and accompany the festival at night.
This is the first time I have seen so many people attend funerals and play so many cards like this. In my mother's hometown, when there are dead people, many old people come to the funeral and sing mourning songs for the dead. But in this village, many people attend the funeral for playing cards.
That night I did not get much sleep because too many people could not sleep and I had to wake up at three o'clock in the morning to help cook breakfast, lunch for the end of the festival.
My sister's house is close to the Thai market and every Tuesday and Friday they sell a lot of things, especially snacks.
I bought strawberries for my two daughters and bought some fragrant coconuts for my husband.
I also bought purple roses for myself because it’s looking so beautiful color and I do not have in my garden.

I am sorry to hear that, it is the same as in small part of Javanese communities when there was a dead person, people play card at night.
Oh really, thank you for your telling me. Have a great day.
Sorry to hear about the passing of your brother-in-law. Is this the regular thing being done to the dead? Like the cremation?
I guess they are not playing cards just for the hang of it. Probably there's some money involved.
The flowers looks pretty. The market looks clean and not chaotic.
Some people play cards just for funerals, but others are no longer regulars, it looks like they are addicted. Thank you 😊
The roses look very pretty. This market is quite good, it has so many things including Japanese food and roses.
It's really quiet because I come when the seller is about to close. Thank you for your comment.
