Well it's finally here! The new airdrop system is live for A call to arms for the Rebellion set and some big changes are taking place for the Splinterlands game. In this article I'm going to go over some things about it in general but then also outline some of my own plans for it.

A Call To Arms

With the new airdrop system we are seeing a drastic change to how it's been done in the past. I mean really you can't really call it a airdrop anymore it's really a mini game within the game and I have to say I'm actully a fan of that. The more mini game options that are clear and have a goal and value behind them the overall better it's going to be for the ecosystem.

Before you would just buy tons of packs in the hopes for airdrops. The issue with that however is you could sell the packs at any time and simply the fact that you bought them off the normal sales page counted you into the airdrop for all future cards.

This new method at least requires you to hold on to the packs and also in a way encourages some pack opening. It also is a sink for DEC, Vouchers and Credits. I wouldn't really call credits a sink though and honestly wish it was removed from the game.

That being said you'll need mage wagons of which you're going to stake your cards and packs. Only rebellion cards and unopened packs count for this. Each wagon costs roughly $2.02 at the moment with 1 voucher being worth just a little over $0.04 Still an extremely far price off of what we were soft told would be $1 value. Instead that's not drastically changed to $0.20 (perceived value per voucher) so there's still room on the upside value of vouchers and if you want to save roughly $0.80 more per pack bought then picking up vouchers is still the way to do it off the market.

Each wagon is 50 vouchers or currently $2.02 but at full price that would make them $10 each. Which is equal to 10,000 DEC or 10,000 Credits which can also be used to buy.

The main thing is if you're going to take part in this the sooner you get in and start stacking the better. This is also because from what I can see from the wording is that wagons will stay with you and continue to contribute points for ALL war efforts.

My Current Set

Right now I'm only pushing around 11,890 points per hour. For a single chance at a card it takes 100,000 points which means roughly have 8 and a half hours I get one chance. 200 chances for this round qualities you to for sure receive at least one card. At my current rate that only puts me at roughly 90 chances or not even half for what's required.

Right now I don't have the best line up. I got lucky on a few pack openings which got a me a nice 500 point card which contributes a good amount. Outside of that I have a lot of common cards which can't be combined anymore. I'm in a toss up right now of buying packs and opening them or buying cards. A single pack would for sure give me 100 more points per hour via being able to stake up to 100 unopened packs per wagon. Of which I currently have 91 staked.

The Next Phase

I'm in a big toss up at the moment if I want to invest more into trying to get these cards and that would pay off. Or would getting more lands up and running actully be better for me. I'm kind of leaning towards mostly land and then picking up a few cards on the side markets if they make sense price wise. I think lands primary focus for me and will be for a while. Being able to get that curing out high quality products when land 2.0 comes and liquidity pools should hold more long term value and wealth to me compared to focusing down on wagons and the war.

At the moment what I currently have put's me all the way back in 699th place. But that's actully pretty wild because I didn't invest much into it. That makes me feel the amount of people taking part in it is pretty dang low. In any case those it's a new value system added to the game. I'd honestly love to see what happened before where once a year we get a promo card that can only be bought with burning vouchers that was actully a lot of fun.

If you need vouchers right now the market is still selling them for stupid cheap. You can pick up a wagon for 1/5th the cost at current prices.
