Today is a big day for me and while it might not be to some it was a goal I set forward to achieve nearly two years ago. That goal was to stake at least 1 million SPS and I'm happy to report as of this morning that goal has been accomplished!

This was done through playing battles, investing in the SPS token many times I think I ended up buying close to 400,000 of it, guild battles, staking rewards and of course land!

What are the plans now you might ask?

Well a lot of the SPS I earn gets locked up and earn staking rewards right now for more SPS and vouchers. But at some point that SPS earned in staking rewards is going to dry up and that's going to be one crazy weird time I think for Splinterlands.

Will continue to just be staked into the game and not pulled out (at least not any time soon).

The SPS earned from liquidity pools and staking rewards I'm going to leave as liquid so I have a little flexibility there now.

I will have to say that a decent part of why I stake SPS these days is actually for vouchers and to support the game. Vouchers are a way to give a small little extra bonus to those who are putting stake into the game and I really hope it's something that the Splinterlands team continues to keep going. It feels like a very important feature to have in the game for once SPS staking rewards run out.

The New Focus

This now allows me to focus on something else in the game and that focus for now is going to be land. I have a total of 142 plots of land of which I need to get cleared and up and running. Currently I only have 30 of those plots cleared so we got some major work ahead of us!

One thing I've found a bit helpful though for land is to just do it. Before I was thinking I needed 50,000 DEC to get my highest level cards on land but soon realized that even if I can only do 5k or 10k I can still put one card on there and start the clearing process.

It might tell me 30 - 45 days to clear the plot but at this point in time it doesn't really matter and that's actually plenty of time before the land 1.75 release. So instead of rushing one single plot I can have lower end workers on 5 sites clearing instead and then semi put that land to work for things like grain to start to stockpile it because we for sure are going to need it!

Land 1.75 and buildings are going to be a very interesting part of the land game. I don't think there will be building maintenance yet but the other resources will be required to earn SPS. I'm curious though how much demand there will be for that as SPS is worth sub 1 penny to throw all of those resources into the production of SPS is either going to increase the value of it or end up maybe being an expense for a while here. Time will tell though and I'm just happy I've hit this goal and am able to show at least my level of support to the Splinterlands game.
