The Never Ending loop of insatiability

I think the world is in a unending loop of complains and dissatisfaction. people struggling to attain certain things, things some others have but aren’t satisfied with. we never really know what exactly we want because we always find new ways of making life comfortable, a way of comfort today might not be that much comfortable again so we move on to something we think will be of more comfort. There are a never ending series of wants we try to satisfy which we can’t satisfy all.

There’s a recent post of an event I came across on a Facebook page of a blogging site, that I first found hard to believe, till I followed up on their website and it turned out to be true.
The story was about a pregnant woman who already have three sons breaking into tears after the gender reveal showed she’s getting another son, complaining she would’ve loved to give birth to a female child. read story

I mean I get it, we all have aspirations on the choices of kids we want, there are some who wanted just two kids a male and a female, but unfortunately for them they gave birth to triplets of boys, there are some who wanted to give birth to a kid with blue eyes but the baby comes out with brown eyes. My point is we don’t always get what we want, but what we get is what we wanted. At first we just wanted to have kids, but our aspirations change when we’re about to get one, we now want a boy, or a girl, a girl with blue eyes, a boy with blond hair etc an unending options of wants. But what would she have done if she couldn’t bear kids, I mean there are people like that who cannot conceive, yet she has three kids about to get her fourth and has a problem because they’re all boys.

One of my teachers back at high school used to say.

We humans are insatiable.

We’ll always expand our menu of interest as we achieve them and we’ll never be satisfied.

Sorry for the delay in getting to your post! Had some challenges recently but trying to catch up :D

It's difficult at times, because we have expectations or things that we want. This woman wanted a girl but she got another boy. Before social media, she would have been upset with just a very small number of people around but with social media, her private moment is shared far and wide and is able to be interpreted quite differently than it was just a few years ago. Strange things indeed!
