Splinterlands BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge: EQUAL OPPORTUNITY!

brawl.png

Good day, everyone! It's time again for another battle challenge from Splinterlands. This time, the battle challenge is Equal Opportunity Ruleset. If you would also like to participate, please make sure to check their post here - BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! For this post, I am going to share a battle with Equal Opportunity Ruleset in Modern Ranked Gold League. If this piques your interest, please continue reading this post.

RULESET: Equal Opportunity

Description:
All units gain the Opportunity ability which allows them to attack the unit with the lowest health on the enemy team.
In this ruleset, I normally utilize a melee attack line-up. Monsters with melee attacks do great damage for me, but can sometimes only be played in position 1. It is also recommended to utilize cards with an attack other than melee, such as melee and ranged or melee and magic. In this battle, I ended up using my most recent legendary soul bound card from Season Chests - Drybone Raider, a neutral card with a Double Strike ability at level 1. Because of its Double Strike ability and melee and ranged attacks, this card is very useful in Equal Opportunity ruleset. You can place this anyplace except Position 1 in the Equal Opportunity Ruleset, and you can use its melee and ranged attacks twice.

Battle Configuration

Here are the rulesets and mana cap to consider for this battle. "Healed Out: All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners.", "Equal Opportunity: All Monsters have the Opportunity ability." and "Are You Not Entertained?: One additional Gladiator card may be used in battles." are the rulesets in effect here. The mana cap is 59, and this allow me and my opponent to use those monsters with high mana cost and has high HP. Here is my line up.

  • Tarsa (Summoner): This will give my monster a +1 melee attack and HP boost. Because my Drybone Raider has a melee attack, this will be quite beneficial. And, since I intended to use a line up with the majority of the monsters having melee attacks, Tarsa was an excellent pick.

  • Forgotten One (Position 1): I positioned this in first place to hopefully activate its Retaliate ability, which deals extra damage to the opponent. It also has a lot of armor and is designed to be a tank in the first position.

  • Ferox Defender (Position 2): I was able to level this card up to the maximum Silver Level, which is quite valuable due to its Protect ability. This will provide my monsters with additional defense against melee and ranged assaults.

  • Legionnaire Alvar (Position 3): This card was used primarily for its Giant Killer ability. The mana cap in this battle was 59, and the opponent was likely to utilize monsters with mana costs of 10 or higher, and Giant Killer can deal twice the damage against enemies with mana costs of 10 or higher.

  • Grum Flameblade (Position 4): I normally use this card in Position 1. The reason I put this card at the back is because of the Equal Opportunity ability and also to place it side by side with my Firecaller. :)

  • Firecaller (Position 5): This monster had the lowest HP in my line up and the main purpose of this card was to boost the stats of my Grum Flameblade and Drybone Raider.

  • Drynone Raider (Position 6): This was my main attacker and highlight of this line up. I hoped that the Firecaller will boosts its stats and can do massive damage using its melee and ranged attack coupled with Double Strike ability.

Battle Summary and Analysis

The opponent also used Tarsa and also the majority of its monsters were melee attackers. The opponent used Disintegrator which decreased the melee attack of my monsters by 1. The opponent also used a more powerful monster that my Ferox Defender which is Arkemis The Bear. The opponent has added protection also and at the same time, can drastically decrease the attack power of any monster attacked by Arkemis The Bear. However, my line up was still triumphant in this battle because of Drybone Raider and Firecaller. Please check the replay below to see how my line-up managed to win this battle.
