Splinterlands Battle: Chaos Dragon's Scattershot in Action!

Introduction

Good day, Splinterlands! It's time again for Splinterlands' SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! DRAGONS!. I am back after a long time of not posting and I would like to share to you guys one of my battles using Chaos Dragon. Currently, I do not have this card and I always see this in high mana cap battles. So I rented one and tried using it in rank battles. Let's look at it.

Here is a quick rundown of CHAOS DRAGON stats.

The Chaos Realm has preyed upon many a world, opening rifts in time and space to invade the lands and take from its people. When they attacked Praetoria and the Splinterlands, it was first thought that the minions were compelled through the portal for their fear of the dark shade that lurked beyond the gate, the shadowed image of Uul. Eventually though, when the last of the armies stepped through, there came such a prodigious monster that at first, none could believe it was real. A nightmare dragged forth into reality...

Battle Configuration

The Modern Format rulesets for this fight are Tis But Scratches and Stampede and the maximum amount of mana allowed is 58 which is quite high. The available elements are Life, Water, Death and Dragon. Since the mana cap is quite high, I thought of using Chaos Dragon which needs 14 mana to summon. I am playing in Silver league and I am using a Level 2 Chaos Dragon which has Flying, Scattershot and Blast abilities. I used Quix The Devious as my summoner because it reduces the speed of all enemy monsters and physical attacks will likely missed attacking my Chaos Dragon because of its Flying ability. My tank here is the Djinn Chwala with its Thorn ability. I also used Magic Attack monsters like Djinn Oshannus and Nerissa Tridawn. I also used Deep Lurker to hunt down monsters with low hp. And lastly I put Wave Brood at the back with its Taunt ability.

Tis But Scratches: All Monsters have the Cripple ability. Each time an enemy is hit by a Monster with Cripple it loses one max health.
Stampede: The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed. Higher HP and speed are the key in this ruleset. Dispel helps to remove Trample. Splintercards Stampede Ruleset.

Let's Battle!

The opponent also used Possibilus the Wise, a new summoner from Chaos Legion that gives Reach and Trample abilities to allied monsters. The enemy tank in Position 1 is Baakjira and put Diemonshark in Position 2, which makes sense since it now has Reach ability. It looks like this will be a tough battle.

The enemy also used Wave Brood, but that does stop Chaos Dragon from attacking other monsters because of Chaos Dragon's Scattershot. It targeted enemy Deep Lurker and inflicted damage also to Diemonshark and Venari Wavesmith.

In the second round, Chaos Dragon still ignored Wave Brood's Taunt and attacked Diemonshark which also damaged Baakjira and Deeplurker.

In Round 3, enemy Wave Brood was no longer present and Chaos Dragon targeted Deep Lurker and not Baakjira which is in the first position.

In Round 4, it attacked Supply Runner which was positioned lastly.

In Round 5, Chaos Dragon was able to defeat Venari Wavesmith. At this time, the monsters that remained on my side is Nerissa Tridawn with 1 HP, Deeplurker with 3 HP and Chaos Dragon with 4 Armor and 10 HP.

In Round 6, only my Chaos Dragon remained so I thought I will lose in this battle. But its Blast ability helped a lot and was able to killed Diemonshark.

Since the enemy has no more attacker and Supply Runner went up to position 1 in Round 8, Chaos Dragon easily killed it and I won the battle.

My Takeaway in using Chaos Dragon

Chaos Dragon is a pretty good card considering that the battle has high mana cap. This card is very useful when fighting an opponent with Taunt ability. The Scattershot will target monsters at random and will ignore the Taunt ability. Also, Chaos Dragon has magic attack together with Blast ability, so thick armors cannot stop its attack. Overall, I think Chaos Dragon is a must have card in your deck.
