Getting to Camp Marilaque

Getting to Camp Marilaque is an enjoyable journey. Along the route of Marikina-Infanta Highway, also known as Marilaque, travelers are drawn into the natural splendor of Tanay, Rizal. This route, stretching from Marikina to Infanta, Quezon, offers an unparalleled journey through lush landscapes and majestic mountain ranges, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts, adventurers, and those seeking a refreshing escape from the city. However, be mindful when passing through Marilaque because this place is also popular among motorcycle enthusiasts who perform stunts along the curves of the road.

The journey to Camp Marilaque took us around one and a half hours from home. You will know that you are near the area when the road changes from cement to a rough road.

You will also need to pass a shallow river to reach the location.

Experience at Camp Marilaque

We arrived at the location around 8:00 in the morning. The guides told us that it's good to arrive early because people often flock to the campsite during weekends. The site has many tall trees, and you can feel the cool mountain air and serene atmosphere. The campsite offers several activities, including ATV rides, soft archery, airsoft guns, Filipino pool, and badminton. Among these activities, only the ATV has a rental fee, while the rest are free.

The area is clean, and the guides will even assist you in setting up your tent. They also offer rentals for rubber mat flooring for your tent and provide tables and chairs for free.

We chose a spot in front of the river with a clear view of the mountainside. After setting up our tent, my son and I went to the river to cool off while my wife prepared our food. Unlike the river in Camp Morri, the river here has stronger currents and large and small stones, which my son was very happy to play with.

Unlike our first camping trip, we spent the night at Marilaque Camp. Several guides roamed around to ensure our safety. Lampposts are everywhere, and there are also CCTVs in the area. We then set up our lights and dinner table and went to sleep with the sound of gushing water from the river and crickets as our background music.

The following morning, the air was cold, and you could hear birds chirping around. After eating our breakfast, we strolled around the area and then cooled off in the river before heading home.

Realization

Camp Marilaque is more than just a campsite. It is more of a resort beside the river where many people set up their tents and stay for more than a day. It offers a relaxing ambiance of nature that our family truly loved. However, if you are looking for a campsite where you can relax peacefully, then this might not be the perfect campsite for you because the crowd tends to play loud music and chatter a lot during the day and night. In conclusion, Camp Marilaque in Tanay, Rizal, offers a perfect escape for those seeking adventure and quality time with family because of the several activities that even the kids will enjoy.
