Cosmic Creations: Baa Baa

Hello Aliens!

This is my first time joining the Cosmic Creation Challenge, and this week's theme is Inspired by Music. The weather today is still gloomy, and we chose to just stay at home while playing with our little kid. So for this challenge, I chose a song that has been playing inside my brain, even during sleep. It is one of the nursery rhymes from Little Baby Bum, and our little kid really likes it. At first, I was not a fan of this song, but dude, I got an LSS after a few listens.

Anyway, the song I chose for this challenge is Baa Baa Black Sheep by Little Baby Bum.

Art Process

Here are the materials that I used to create this fan art.

• Clip Studio Paint

I started creating my art by sketching an image of a sheep. Well, I tried to make it comparable to Baa Baa from Little Baby Bum. The idea is that Baa Baa is picking up a mysterious, glowing wool out of the clouds. Because Baa Baa is an astronaut in this song, I think this is quite relatable.

After creating the sketch, I made a clear line out of it and started applying dark colors. At first, I used black, then dark green and light green. I then used a light color to airbrush the outline of the image. At this point, I have already hidden the line art. I smudged the lower part of the image to make it look like it was flowing upward. Next is the eye. I wanted to make it glow, so I used a combination of different colors of blue. I then darkened the skin and the wool of our little Baa Baa. After that, I put some neon lights coming out of its wool. I also used neon lights and added a glow layer to make the mysterious wool.

And here is the final output of my creation: I wanted to make it like a giant sheep in the sky, picking wool out of the clouds. But I guess I need more practice. 😆
And oh, I normally retain the line art of my work, but this time I tried a different approach. I guess it's not that bad, eh?
