Manowar

Theme: KINGS OF METAL.
Disc:Kings Of Metal.
Year:1988.

There was no need for anyone to tell them, they cooked it and they ate it, so who better than their own Calaveras to call themselves “kings of metal”. Although now they are seen as something outdated, there was a time when Manowar were something unique in metal. That macho pride pose, the swashbuckling defense of heavy metal, their obsession for epic and fantastic references, the biker warrior outfits...

And although these characteristics together are the best excuse to criticize heavy metal, its philosophy and aesthetics by those who despise it, they made Manowar something enormously exciting and original. They defended their beliefs with killer guitars and devastating sound, adopting the role of defenders of true metal. They wore “jeans and leather”, had “the biggest amps” and came to “kick our asses” playing at thunderous volume, at 10, like men.

As the chorus said “while other bands play, Manowar kill”. That's how they were. While Ross The Boss was in the band, Manowar were unbeatable, leaving superb albums and countless anthems with “never too loud” as a flag, Joey Demaio brought his amazing bass playing and Eric Adams his dictatorial speech of manhood and metallic feeling with an overwhelming voice.

All this and much more can be found in “Kings Of Metal”, the best philosophical compendium of one of the bands that, despite whoever it may concern, best represents the heavy parish. “True metal people wanna rock not pose...”

Thanks for reading me my people, and I hope all this editorial work is to your total liking, without further ado I'll see you in a new post with more of these legendary rock songs.
