Is reading enough for a student to pass an exam?
Quite a controversial topic to write about indeed so your inputs in the comment section will be very much appreciated.
Note: this is just my view and it's not binding on anyone neither is it a must follow before you succeed as a student.... Of course, humans are unique and what affects my performance may not affect yours...

This is another contributory factor to our success in academics.
Students varies in the sense that some students prefer cool environment for their studies while others prefer a not so rowdy environment to the extent that they resort to playing music when everywhere is so calm and some students don't really care and can understand whatever they are reading irrespective of how noisy or calm the environment is.
When a student who supposedly prefers calm environment to understand whatever he's reading ends up getting an apartment is a noisy environment, it is very obvious he will end up performing poorly in academics except he takes drastic measures which will involve him going outside his room to read.
Also, an environment that is filled up with students will favour students more rather than a student who lives in an apartment mixed with families especially families with little children because even the Bible says that, *"Iron sharpens Iron."
A student will do better if he stays in a place where life's basic amenities such as water and light supply is relatively steady.
This will enable the Student to minimize the time he spends in looking for water when he should be doing better things.
I remember how hard it was for my colleagues and I when we were preparing for our second professional exam because there was no light.

Also, there is this joy that comes with bulb lights.... It just gives you this intrinsic push to get up from the bed and read unlike when everywhere is dark .
This also helps minimise the time and funny stories that might arise from going elsewhere to charge your electrical appliances.
Directly or indirectly, the state of the family where we come from plays an impact in our academic success.... I think.
Take for instance;
When a student has read so well for an exam and receives a call that his mum just divorced his dad, the Student will have low chances of doing well in that exam because of the lack of peace in his or her family.
This can be a great contribution to success...
When a student has enough money for his needs, he feels relaxed reading his books knowing fully well that whatever he needs will be provided for immediately....
This helps him to fully commit to his books and will invariably do well in his studies.
In the same way, a student who has no money nor hope of getting some will be very disturbed because his daily bread can't even be provided for.
Whenever he opens his or her book, all he or she sees are various thoughts of what he or she will eat... How he or she could manage the little money left to serve him or her for the next one week when ordinarily, the money can't serve for two days.
He or she spends so much time drafting lists of things he can do to economise the little available.
With such wandering mind, the person is only able to achieve little while reading and this will invariably lead to poor performance in academics.
Finally, examinations are very subjective in the sense that we are 💯 at the mercy of our lecturers.
A lecturer marking a student's script when he or she is happy is more likely to be considerate bearing in mind that the student made a genuine attempt In answering the questions even when he didn't get it all right unlike when a lecturer is angry as he can even make you lose unnecessary marks for missing one word or the other.
Also, there might be mistakes when recording the score especially when the Lecturer is disturbed with one thing or the other and this might affect a student or two...
Hence, the student who read so hard to prepare and wrote the exam very well might end up with a result he or she didn't expect.
In as much as all these factors play role, it is always never a doubt that reading is a step... The first step taken in the right direction of every student if you intend to do well in your academics but just wanted to point out that there are other factors amidst good preparation.
Even if God wants to come in and influence other factors you can't handle, you've got to atleast written the correct answers, don't you think so?
Thanks for reading and have a nice day
Money! money! money!
Above all, if one is embedded in stark hardship, your attention will be divided between making money and reading.
With this, adequate time won't be given to your academics and what next? The likelihood of poor academic performance is highly increased.
This is quite educating 💯
It basically revolves around money honestly especially in underdeveloped Country like ours....
The divided attention has made the Field of academics lose a lot of brilliant students because'na who eat dy read'
Brooo 😁 you made very good points here. Everything you said is soo correct.
The money part especially. If you don't have money, you find it hard to cope with every other thing.
Money and a conducive environment. Top notch for me 😅
No cap 😂
All in all, these are ideal factors that can hinder reading but we haven't talked about how the university as a whole or school per se can be so draining emotionally, psychologically and physically. And to be very honest I don't really think only reading can make a student pass an exam. It's essential,it actually is! But I feel the ability to retain this information is what makes a student pass an exam. Reading, studying, it's difficult as hell, can be frustrating too. Sometimes I just stare at my book and start crying, life isn't supposed to be difficult but it is!.
So sad we're in the era where we have to take even the minutest of things by force even when it was meant to be given to us..
We will pull through I know
Only reading is not the thing for a student to pass exam. Those things you mentioned here also plays very important role for a student. I agree with you in this case .

Too bad it's not enough, hehehe
Thanks for your consistent support
