Busyness as a means of survival

IMG_20220930_232123.jpg

Let's talk today about being occupied, being busy, about busyness, or rather overbusyness, being over worked (in my native language, there is just one word for it, and there is no need to explain it, when talking about being occupied too much, but in the cases people put themselves alone in that situation.

IMG_20220930_232147.jpg

Observing the behavior of bees, what do you think?

IMG_20220930_232205.jpg

I already told you once what is my heretical opinion on the matter -

IMG_20220930_232222.jpg

the bees are drugged with the pollen they collect, it makes them feel high and continue with the hard work, with this over-occupation.

IMG_20220930_232245.jpg

These pictures show just that. They were taken one after the other within a minute or two (seconds are not counted, so I can't say it with absolute accuracy). And in fact, I'm showing them to you right now in the reverse order they were taken. Because I don't think this order really matters.

IMG_20220930_232301.jpg

What matters here is the action, the constant movement, the lack of rest, the lack of desire for rest...

IMG_20220930_232317.jpg

And no, the pictures are not the same, only the background is the same. They are different, showing the main object in them like a film strip, which does not rotate, but is presented in separate frames.

IMG_20220930_232340.jpg

Now that we are aware of this assumption about bees, what could we say about humans?

IMG_20220930_232358.jpg

What makes people go like crazy around all the time, always doing something, always busy with something... With something very important?

IMG_20220930_232414.jpg

Undoubtedly, personal affairs are important for every person. But when you do these things until you pass out, when you don't give yourself a minute of peace of mind and body, pretending that what you are doing is the most important thing, vitally important... then I start to ask some questions.

IMG_20220930_232438.jpg

I have shared with you before that I myself am such a person. I was raised to be this way. To never rest. And the funny thing is that the people who did this to me (my parents 😂) are actually resting very well. They always sleep at noon, for example. Unlike me.

IMG_20220930_232454.jpg

Being always busy and never resting has its deep psychological roots that have sprouted in childhood or later in a person's life to compensate for one or the other lack.

IMG_20220930_232543.jpg

And now do you understand where is the main difference between humans and bees? 😁

IMG_20220930_232558.jpg

I would say that animals have long learned, much better than us, how to live with pleasure, how to get pleasure in life. Whatever their life will be - short or long, full of pain and ending in a foregone horrible death or long and full of toil and hardship.

IMG_20220930_232614.jpg

While much of us humans still haven't.

IMG_20220930_232800.jpg

And even if we know what would bring us pleasure, or make our lives easier and bearable, we don't do it.

IMG_20220930_232829.jpg

Guess why - because other people around us don't either.

IMG_20220930_232848.jpg

Yes, I know, the world is too complicated and certain people claim that everything in it has its place and everything has a meaning.

IMG_20220930_232913.jpg

But I personally find, even in my daily life, a number of meaningless things. Which, despite their meaninglessness, still anchor us on the surface.

IMG_20220930_233055.jpg

Being constantly busy is one such thing. It keeps us from drowning. It holds us as with a girdle on the surface of life.
With every minute you are endlessly engaged in meaningful or meaningless activities, your brain is turned off for other things and this allows you to breathe.
Above the water.
You won't drown.
That's the message: Keep going!

IMG_20220930_233121.jpg

I can only imagine what the bee was saying at that moment:

"Keep going!" it said in a drunkard's voice and stuck its head into the flower once more.

I agree it comes from childhood. I found that the busyness served as an escape from the traumas experienced as a child. Sort of a protective mechanism. Like a bee, in order to keep going, we get high on whatever "pollen" we find works for us.

Yes, and at least the bees do it with healthy products 😄, while we humans, whatever we use, is always destructive. Both for the psyche and for the body. Maybe that was the original goal anyway - to destroy ourselves one way or another, sooner or later. Or we just haven't reached the wisdom of the bees...

I agree with what you said, humans are too busy to forget how to be happy

Very beautiful photo👍

Oh, people like to get overwhelmed with trivial things in order to forget the important ones - this is a preferred solution because it's so easy...
Thank you! 😊
